One that surprised me was Upright Saison du Blodget. To me it's a 95 point beer easy, but it's rated 87 here. That's perhaps not horrible, but there are some pretty horrible beers that have managed to gather an 87 point rating.

LTDD Dulcis Succubus surprised me at 91, I figured 98-ish would be right, but 91 isn't low enough to really complain about :grinning:

This has generally been my answer to this question as well. Lately, though, I think a better answer might be "any really good beer that has less than 7%abv. We're just too tough on beers that aren't huge. The best beers out there are not all DIPA's and stouts.

I've been saying this since it hit the shelves. Vastly underrated and disrespected (there's a review where he thinks the brewers used whatever vegetables they could find instead of hops) I'm assuming because of the brewery. I'm not a fanboy, I don't like most of their stuff, but Upheaval, Alchemy and Citra Blonde are great.

One beer that comes to mind -- which I was recently pleasantly surprised by -- is North Coast Brewing Co.'s Grand Cru. I absolutely love it and can't get enough of it but it's rated at 82... I know, different strokes and what-not..

I have it rated 4.43. People go gaga over their DIPA, 'Gandhi Bot', but somehow its little cousin gets overlooked.

For me going by what suprised me the most that I hear nothing about was southern tier 2xone. I loved it. Way better than that stupid hoptimum that I just bought which would fall into the thread of over rated for me

I picked this up recently with no prior knowledge other then Kona is a brewery in Hawaii. The label evoked tropical goodness, surfing, the beach, pineapples, mangoes, etc. This beer is super delicious. If you like Sculpin and it's ilk you'll enjoy this and at half the price you can't pass it up.

I'd rate this higher then 85!

Tons of Pale Ales come to mind. But for me specifically, it was St. Feullien/Green Flash Belgian Coast IPA collab. I thought it was worthy of a 90+ rating, I loved the unique way it is put together.

    It has an 84 rating.

I agree. And price should NEVER pull back a rating, although subconsciously it sometimes can i'm sure.

According the Devs it would be Alpine lager from Moosehead or Warsteiner Premium lemon. Frankly the new Mutiny Red Ale from Bowen Island is great and is super underrated

I would never knock someone for drinking PTE. It is a Hall of fame beer. In fact, if I was at the RR pub and could only have one beer, I would have to order a PTE.
That said, Blind Pig is world class and gets overlooked like a red headed step child.

Kane Overhead and Head High. Overhead might be better than Heady Topper.

if you haven't had it, they do a version of overhead with mosaic that is off the charts.

Sort Maelk. Ratebeer have it as their no. 1 milk stout > VS, CC offerings and VS BA. Although it's not as good as VS BA it deserves higher than 92, surely?!
