At this point I'm not sure a young punk would have much effect on my palate.....

Finishing up with a Guinness FES.

Would like to try it from a can. Such a good beer and so well balanced. Outshines the SNPA and makes a great go to in any situation. Never thought "wish I'd tried something else instead" after one of these.

Always imagine a Scottish Gerard Depardieu talking when I read your posts. A terrifying thought!

I believe there's still time to drink that bottle of 2005 Pannepot Grand Reserva before bed...BTW, I cannot get Twin Twin out of head now. And that's a good thing.

Picture what some guy got from an American liquor store closing down sale. I'm very jealous right now.

Dare I say it's better bottled than on cask?

Unfortunately I've never had the pleasure of sampling it on cask, though I imagine it would be good. The bottled version is very tasty though....

I prefer hops bottled to be honest, I like them cool and crisp rather than that full bodied character you get with most cask ales.

I might have to do a side-by-side next time I'm at the Oakham micro brewery. I've had Citra's bigger brother on cask, Green Devil IPA, and found it really sickly. I'll get a bottle next time.

Biere D'Or Des Flandres by Brasserie de Saint-Omer
Clearance from Tesco £2 for 10 25cl stubby bottles. Not terrible, little too fizzy slight wheat tartness stopping it being completely bland. Ok bit of a let down to my usual artisan ales but hey even the best French beers aren't much better
but thank you Manchester city council for your wonderful council tax hike that meant I needed to source less expensive beverages
