Is it me or is this new batch super tropical? Ive had this beer a ton but this new batch is just absurdly good! Wonder if they changed the hop bill?

I don't know about any recipe change but I agree. I have had this beer several times myself and it was always solid but never overly impressed me, but recently had 2 growler fills of it and it was on par with fresh Sculpin IMO. And now that it is in 12 pack cans it could be my new summer go-to beer.

Bottles or cans? What the bottling date?

Bottles. The bottling date is a little faded but looks like it says 05-03-14. That 05 could be an 03, but this beer is tastes extremely fresh.

This is one of my favorite IPAs, but I haven't seen it fresh in my area recently which is a real bummer.

Yeah it would be great to find any of this that isn't 2-3 months old.

I may be stopping at the brewery tomorrow, I'll be in the area for the Bruce Springsteen concert so I'll see what it takes like straight from them and compare!

Damn. It would be preferable if posts like these were brewery plants, which I know this one is not and very few others, if any, are. Reason? Now I have to go out and buy some and see what I think since I don't believe anybody. If it was a brewery plant, I could ignore it.

I thought so too. However, I have had this beer within a week or two of bottling before, and this new batch is just something else.

I haven't had it in the past few months, but maybe I'll give it a shot if they have it at the bar the next time I go. Tropical sounds tasty to me, and living only about 30 mins from the brewery means I never have a problem getting it fresh.

I've had it many times but then didn't have it for months (so this may be a factor). I picked a bottle up the other day that was roughly three weeks old and I agree, it tasted a little different to me...less bitter and more fruity/a little more complex than I remembered it to be.

So I just had some last night at the brewery, tasted pretty much what I recalled it to be, but while thinking about it you definitely see some tropical tastes.

Just gotta reply to say how awesome your avatar is. My friend won runner-up in the NYS lottery a few years back and rented Beetle Juice out for 4 hours to come party at his house with a bunch of people. Needless to say, it was a very memorable day.

Surprisingly, it is not as expensive as you may think.

    Me?!?

Ha ha thank you! That is incredible and I am sure many, many stories have resulted from that memorable day!
