Next up in the series. Should be available in a couple of weeks.
Passion fruit, mango, peach aromas with a soft bitterness.
    Looking forward to this one.

Sweet. I'm excited for this and I doubt it will sell too quickly.

    It's pronounced RACKOW
Maori word meaning trees or wood.

I hope this beer turns out well. Everything I've tasted (professional or home-brewed) with Rakau has been bland, almost like Amarillo-lite.

FWIW, Societe's Bachelor with Rakau fits this description pretty well.

I thought theirs was a little underwhelming; it was a little thin and uninspiring. However, I also thought it was kind of elegant. It tasted faintly of peaches and rose hips. I wish it were a little more crisp, juicy, and bitter, but it was refreshing in a simple kind of way.

Rose hips for sure. Also lots of Blackberry Tea notes. I think Societe executed that beer perfectly but the Rakau hop is just a little weak/weird.

Exactly. Societe did a beautiful job with it, but it definitely seems like more of a complementary hop than a showcase one.

are they still doing these in the mold of a DIPA? I really wish they would drop the ABV down to maybe 7-7.5 at the highest. Bordering on 9% it seems like that's not optimal for some of these hops like Rakau or Amarillo. Citra and Nelson are pungent enough to overcome that sort of alcohol and body.... What do you guys think?

I think the extra sweetness from a DIPA recipe helps accentuate certain hops actually. Depends on the specific hop though...like simcoe always seems better to me in a thinner, dry beer.

Anyone know if this will be released this week?

If the release schedule follows past showers, yeah. I would expect it to be in bottles at the brewery come Wednesday.
