It's a somewhat small place I guess. By what standard? Compared to say Saint Arnold? Okay yeah it's small. But it's not that small. I mean, there's room there.

One time I visited Wormtown Brewery in Worcester, MA (which, apparently, is pronounced Wuster. Whatever.) and that was the smallest brewery I've ever seen. They had room for four tanks total. And a really really small table that they used for hand-bottling. It was a closet. I mean that. It was quite literally a repurposed closet attached to a restaurant. Beers were respectable though. Sometimes good things come in small packages.

My kroger still has a number of those bottles... never spoke to me enough to pick one up... is it worth it?

Big difference between starfucking/groupie-ism where it's some nerd with too much time finding information online versus someone within the industry. How can you continue good faith in someone else in the industry (or as a business partner) if they're passing around info without your consent?

I understand that with a lot of things but in this instance... it just a brewery signing with a distributor. So, I get it but...

Apologies to Kyle and Brian. I was just posting info that was passed on to me by the brewery. It was mentioned to me as if it was already a known fact. "did you hear the news?!?... We signed with flood". I was excited about this so I thought I would share my excitement. I'm sorry if this thread caused/causes problems.

It's not a huge deal. For what it's worth, we'll generally announce things when the brewery is ready to make our arrangements public, or in the recent case of Jolly Pumpkin, when we have a clear idea of when a launch is going to happen (the process of bringing in bottle-conditioned, barrel-aged wild ales into Texas has been an exhausting one). We might talk to bars, restaurants and retail accounts before a public announcement is made, but this is generally for the purpose of trying to plan out launch events or allow buyers advance notice to make room for upcoming inventory.

I understand how it seemed like this was a known, public fact when this thread was started, and I'm really happy to see the reaction to the news; I used to sell Lone Pint here back in the Duff days, and it's really damn cool to be bringing them back to Austin. Outside of a couple small inconveniences, there wasn't any real harm done, and I'd rather not taint this whole thing with us looking like we're being pricks about this. In an industry revolving around drinking, everyone talks, myself included. Let's just save declarations of fact in public forums for the right time.

Jolly Pumpkin has always been one of my favorite breweries since I first tried luciernaga (the beer that changed my whole perspective on beer). It's just a dream come true to be able to go buy some JP whenever I feel like it. Now, to be able to go buy a pint of lone pint and potentially packaged lone pint (according to lutter) in Austin is an additional dream come true. I'm so thankful to have a distributor like flood in Austin.
