Hello everyone! Looks like I will be spending a whole 4 hours in Brussels at the airport in about a month. Any good beer places within the airport that I can check out? Cheers, Verba
You can take the train from the airport to Brussels Central or Brussels Midi for about 9 Euros. Cantillon is about a 10 min walk from Brussels Midi. You can find random beer spots near Brussels Central.
The airport itself is almost a beer desert, strictly Stella, Hoegaarden and Leffe territory. Don't think you can even get a Trappist. Unless you can crack into a duty-free purchase. Figure an hour round trip, to/from central or south (Midi), all in, by the time you get down into the stations and all that, plus your wait time in the station. If you don't have time, maybe the airport hotel has a better selection.
Sheraton across has some beers and the Delhaize in the arrival hall sell some trappists and other beers
If you are desparate (and it seems you might be!); there is a café area upstairs in Departures that at least stocks bottles of Duval and Westmalle Tripel.
That certainly does it for me, and I'd given up on trying to find anything beyond Inbev's big 3. Very useful as I'm passing through (albeit usually not after beer o'clock) 1/2x a month. Cheers!
