really? wow, that was fast. @blue-dream saw at least 5 cases of that this am. he picked up a few himself and i picked up a couple during lunch. which we ran into a ton of people picking up some stickee monkee. which barely last 10 minutes on the shelf (although i saw a case coming out from back as i checked out. it may not be sold out yet)

 

5 cases?? Holy shit that went fast. I got a couple Attack of the Devil's Lettuce as well. 5 or 6 of them left.

 

I knew that SMSP wouldn't last long with no limit, i was surprised there was no limit to begin with...
Side note, cant wait to try that stickee monkee!

 

indeed! what was funny, they had at least 4 cases of ZD, which not too many people saw as they were clawing their way for pipeworks and firestone stuff. Plenty of pentagram as well.

 

Just called binnys on grand, they just put out more SMSP, so they had more in back, down to last 6 stickee monkees tho.

 

Damn. I had my blinders on when I was in there. Didn't even think to look for anything beyond SMSP...

 

Hey Pipeworks, any further details about potential glassware and t-shirts for sale during Chicago Craft Beer Week yet? (Crossing my fingers for glassware showing up anytime between Tuesday-Memorial Day.)

 

Scored S'more Money and a Mocha Abduction at Binny's Lakeview!

 

Has anyone opened a bottle of the current batch of SMSP yet? How's it tasting?

 

I'm enjoying the Mocha now. So rich and delicious.

 

Opened one last night. It's tasting fantastic. I thought I was camping. Lit a fire on my living room floor and slept in a sleeping bag.

 

How does Attack of the Devil's Lettuce compare to Dayman (only coffee ipa i've had)? I really enjoyed Dayman but i'm curious how the Sorachi Ace hops mix with coffee.

 

@Rimbimhoot I did not have Dayman but Attack of the Devil's lettuce was an easy drinking beer. Everything was blended nicely together.

 

@Pipeworks - any chance these two find their way inside bottles for us sorry pre-Sloppy Seconds saps that can't make it tonight?

Please explain why Sorachi Ace hops were the choice here with Devils Lettuce.

I hate these hops but it actually worked out perfect with coffee. Was it because this was one of few hops that could actually get through after all he coffee in this thing? The coffee is SO good and the hops make a minor appearance that I like.

 

Am I the first human in the world to break their PWs snifter?

I set my glass on the bar and pulled a 6 pack out of the fridge to grab another beer after drinking my Attack of the Devils Lettice. I took out a 6 pack and set it on the bar to grab a bottle. I set it down on the bar, and grabbed the six pack to put it back in the fridge. The six pack nicked my glass and it tumbled down, towards the floor, landing on the small portion of floor not covered by rugs, shattering into pieces.

In three years I've never broken any glassware, until tonight. My heart is broken. My first thought was literally this "If I would have manned up and went into the city for the tap take over, this would have never happened."

I can not express my frustration at the moment. Missed the party of the year AND busted my favorite glassware. Life is hard.

 

I broke mine a few months ago while cleaning it. You are not alone.
