Oooooh. My opinion matters? Be careful what you wish for. :grimacing:

Agreed it looks bad. Unlike that other recent thread, there's a good deal of time elapsed here. Hopefully @Nickqb7 responds with his side of the story.

He's on again today. I'm going to consider this a lost cause. Oh well, I will just find someone else to proxy for.

    @Nickqb7 , thanks for nothing!

Bad traders should be banned from the site or at least have their access restricted. Many times people are called out in threads here as bad traders, don't respond yet they roam free on the site. People have been banned from this site for far less offenses than stealing beer from people.

Just put them in the penalty box - no access to trading forum for a duration based on the severity of the offense. Stolen beer = permanent restriction.

I would take a step further, bad trader = complete ban from site or at least a couple of months suspension from whole site, just not trading forum.

The thing is, the Bros dont want to have any responsibility or get involved with trading (rightfully so). They aren't gonna police this place, the feedback system was a huge addition to help us see who is a good trader and who blows. It doesn't help old trades, but its been in place a while now...if everyone actually used it, its quite simple.

I dont disagree that such actions should result in losing their right to use the site in general, I just dont see that ever happening.

Here is a system that I think can work with minimal effort and policing from Bros.

    1) use current trade system to have both parties agree to trade.
    2) If at some point one party goes dark, the other party starts a thread and uses @user name to alert other party of thread. Accused trader gets the notification.
    3) Once this is done the accused trader has 7 days to post in thread and show their face. If they don't , their access to site is restricted until they address bad trader thread.

It is ridiculous there are users of the site who have bad trader threads about them and they ignore the thread and their trading partner as they use the rest of this site.

Unfortunately, I see little good to come from banning people. It takes all of a minute to register a new account anyway so I'm not sure what is gained. Something they would probably do anyway after there credibility gets hit after a bad trade or thread about them. I suppose there is something to say about needing consequences but I don't know how to make a real consequence without linking a shipping address to 'trade' accounts (to prevent re-registering after this type of scenario). Which is something I'd support but doubt the bro's want to get into.

This has been discussed many times.

BA does not endorse trading, but does recognize that it is a subculture that's part of craft beer culture. As noted in the rules, all trades are made at your own risk.

At the end of the day, every trade, good bad or otherwise is a he said, she said agreement and/or disagreement/conflict.

BA has neither the time nor the resources to investigate these on a case by case basis, resolve them and adjudicate them.

    Short answer: that's not happening.

He won't respond because he has nothing to say for himself. His silence for so long proves it. I hope no one else trades with this guy in the future.

Good luck ddedhed, hopefully this is just a misunderstanding, and @Nickqb7 will come here to explain, and this will get straightened out like some of the other recent misunderstandings. If not, I am sure Karma will swing around against this guy with the help of all of us doing the right thing to make sure everyone we know in this community is aware of this.
