I will be heading down WDW way here in a few weeks. First time in the area. I'm looking for just good bottle shops, I wont be able to hit up any thing else. Knightly Spirits(OBT) seems to be the main place to find craft in the area (please correct me if I'm wrong) and I keep hearing about Publix?

My question is, where can I find good FRESH beer? When I travel I always find the best place to get beer in that area, but some times it is old stuff. I'm looking for pretty much IPAs or anything damn good that's exclusive to that area of the country. Stuff I cant get in Ohio. I really want some fresh CCB and any other good local brewery's IPAs.

So again, where is the best place to go to get FRESH stuff, and by fresh I mean IPAs that haven't been sitting there for months? Thanks for helping me out fellow BAs!!

Finding fresh CCB shelf stuff should not be a problem for you, it doesn't sit on shelves here in Orlando as it turns quick. Knightly Spirits is a great bottle shop in terms of selection, but if you are really just in search of some fresh CCB Jai Alai any Publix supermarket will very likely have it and they are all over Orlando. Canning dates are clearly stamped on bottom of can. I very rarely find it more than 4-6 weeks old at Publix, and it's usually a lot fresher than that. Last time I went to Publix, the Jai Alai I bought was 3 days old.

    Enjoy Orlando!

The white oaked version of Jai Alai just came out, so I would try to find that one.

Knightly Spirits is probably your best bet. Be sure to ask what they might have behind the counter.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. Any other good IPA recommendations for the area?

I will keep my eye out for that one, thanks. Any other recommendations for good beers found in the area?

In your quest for fresh IPA' s, I live here in Orlando and unfortunately pickings are slim on good local breweries. If you can get to Winter Park, Cask and Larder is your best bet for fresh beer brewed on premise. Had the Imperial IPA they brewed recently, and it was excellent. Most of Ron's beers are.

@philhyde advice above is spot on. CCB just released another batch of WO Jai Alai so it's very fresh, but also hard to track down as it goes fast. It is very worth it if you find it though. Make sure you ask if you go to Total Wine or Knightly Spirits because they will probably have it behind the counter/limited if they do indeed have it in.

    Cheers!

If you are driving down, stop at Swamphead in Gainesville, the brewery is just off of I-75. Liked their IPAs when visiting the wifes uncle. If flying, nevermind.

Also there are tons of ABC Wine/Liquor stores scattered across the area that usually have a better selection of craft beer than Publix usually does.. Find the newer larger ABC stores which often have the largest beer sections.

Jai alai can also be found in whole foods and target along with a lot of other places, really not hard to find anymore. Even some gas stations carry it. Whole goods is kinda expensive though.
