I was at a beer store with one of those walk in coolers and found a boxed bottle of (the above) and I was curious as it if I'm just extremely lucky, or are old vintages of this beer fairly easy to find? I paid 9.99, and knowing that it had been properly stored, I trust that I'm in for a delicious beer, and no need to age it further.

Not sure how easy it is to come by exactly, I know the store I go to here has a few vintages of it. I actually had an '04 for new years, but they also had the 08, 09, and '10 as well. Pretty good one way or another though.

I ran across one not too long ago and picked it up. Not extremely rare but not conmen by any means. I would drink it right away as it is at its peak, i think the 08 are best bythe end of 2011, according to the bottle.

I saw it quite a bit for a while throughout 2011, but haven't seen it quite at much these days. I know of one place that still has some '08, but most are selling '10 at this point.

A store near me has very many cases of 2007 and 2008 and they are charging 1.99 each! I've been meaning to go back and stock up.

For whatever reason a liquor store I recently discovered only has 1999 and 2000 available. Of course I bought one of each and sampled them immediately but I found them to be a bit off. Assuming acceptable cellar conditions, I can't help but wonder whether the lack of flavor I'm experiencing is normal...

09 is still on the shelf here. I was at Fuller's last year and had a 99, it was amazing. You'll be fine to drink that now and I would buy it if I saw it, but you could age it too, and I know it does really well.

I've had several 08s (all in late 2011.) Like you I thought I scored but I've seen it a few times since then.

Turns out, I did score even if it wasn't a RARE score. Every one of the few times I've seen it since I bought it unflinchingly.

If you like English Ales, it doesn't get much better than Fuller's Vintage 08. That beer is tits.

Yup, ValuMarket in the Highlands has cases of the 2007, 2008 and 2009 for $1.99 a bottle! I bought four 08 and four 09. I bought the last case of 07 they had. Couldnt pass it up. Im planning on giving them out at my next tasting event.

Like the OP, I also found the 2008 vintage for $9.99 yesterday. I wish I could get the $1.99 price. :slight_frown:

I had a 2010 a few months back, it was good not great. Smooth, round, medium full. Mild taste.

I think either the brewery or the distributor releases vintages on a regular basis. Not only is it common to see older vintages for sale, I often see the same vintage appear at multiple locations around the same time. So it's not a score in the sense of finding something rare or with high trade value. On the other hand, if by score you mean "a fantastic beer that is well worth the price", I'd say yes, you scored.

Also, thanks for reminding me-there's a shop nearby that has bottles of the 2010 vintage, and I need to pick some up.

Just picked up two bottles of the 2009 at $9 a bottle. Thoughts on how the 2009 is drinking right now?

2001 is borderline whale territory. Loads of people looking for it.

Did a 2008-2013 vertical last month. All of them were incredible.
