Personally I'm not big on pre-mixed radlers. A liter mug of ale freshly mixed with some lemonade in a Munich beer garden in the summertime is, however, an absurdly beautiful experience.

Berlinerweisses seem to be hit or miss, for me, regardless of who brews it. A not-too-gimmicky, solid berliner in a can mixed with some fruit juice of the right variety (instead of sickly sweet fruit syrup), which I'm confident that Sixpoint may be able to pull off beautifully, could be amazing. If that's the direction taken, then I'll definitely try it :-)

you're in luck - can't wait to share with you. Perhaps we should do a special BA tasting at the brewery?

looking forward to trying this. hopefully the price is lower than their other options, as the abv is half of others in the lineup.

Wait, Rad is an ale brewed with fruit juices and isn't a "radler", an ale with fruit juices added?

... I'm thinking @Sixpoint and co. are just screwing with us at this point :grimacing:

Because any beer with fruit juices added has to be a Radler?

    Sir,

First, we don't "screw" with people.

Second, Radler is usually a mix of pils or helles lager and lemonade. There are many variants by other names, but this is the original style and formulation.

    You may read more here.

    Hope you enjoy!

    cheers

Any word on a drop date for RAD?

Edit: oh yeah, and I'm curious to see if @Sixpoint puts out some fancy-dancy new glassware for this one, too :-)

This sentence fragment is the essence of why we need a "Dislike" option in here....

Apollo is fantastic, and is easily in the top-3 Kristallweizen's that are readily available. In my opinion, it is a really close matchup between Apollo and Weienstephaner for the top slot.

    Bring it back!

    /end rant

That being said...this sounds quite interesting. I'm a big berliner fan, and Sixpoint's not-so-subtle hints that this will be a fruited berliner makes me excited and ready to give this a shot.

Sad to see a delicious classic go the way of the dodo, but excited to see it's replacement.

Keep up the fantastic work you do, Sixpoint.

We plan on making the general announcement next week. All production finished last Saturday.

Get ready for a sour, sessionable surprise...

Oh? So, is Rad actually a session-strength Apollo with fruit juice added? Is that why it's not actually a radler?

Apollo mixed with fruit juice or is that too simple?

For what it's worth, I'm expecting it to be tart/sour. Like halfway between berliner and radler.

So...Apollo aged with Lacto, then fruited?

Damn you and your hints!!!

    My excitement grows...
