I think it's just over priming. I had bottles of the bourbon kalamity immediately upon release that gushed. I most recently opened a bourbon kalamity a month ago and it gushed the same as upon release, no worse.

Again, to my pallet and those who've shared it with me, nothing tasted off... It was simply super carbed.

After reading this thread I popped one of my Kalamity (quarter cask) bottles into the frig. It opened with a small "pop", nothing major. A decent head of foam, not too much, and the beer was absolutely incredible, it seems more integrated than upon release 5 months ago. Great stuff!

That was my suspicion as well. Wasn't surprised to hear the Rye cask version fingered as 'off' also, given the characteristics of those barrels. Regardless, I'm not much of a fan of any beers 13% and up when fresh (including Kalamity) and was planning to give it a year or longer. Hearing about bottles bursting on the shelf is enough to make me throw them in the refrigerator.

I opened my St. Whatshername Cuvee a few weekends back and it was totally fine. Was kept at cellar temp and 24 hours in the fridge before opening, not sure if that has any major effect or if I just had a good bottle...

Anybody know what's going on with the taproom? And are the few Pour Decisions bottles I see around from the old regime, pre-merger? Is the new entity going to start putting out some beers that aren't drain pours like those that were available in the old Pour Decisions tap room? Moar looks like it's getting slightly better reviews, is that being made by the PD brewer & thus better? I have so many questions. That was a nice taproom, I'm looking forward to it opening up again if the quality is going to be there.

I wish the bottle of Dark Fatha I bought a while back HAD exploded - It would have kept me from trying it....

Had this at APN last year because of the cool ass standee in the booth. Shoulda realized if they needed a standee to attract me to avoid it.

I saw something last week saying the taproom should be open mid June. Their website says it's going to be one of the largest in the state.

Maroon and Bold bottles are from the PD days (and not worth buying IMO). I haven't gotten around to posting my review of Moar, but I thought it was a pretty good beer for 4.whatever %. Won't be Xtreme IMAHOPHEAD IPAZ4EVR for some, but it's well brewed. From what I understand, PD was already brewing for Bent, so no real change in any of the previous Bent beers (poor recipes IMO). Looks like they're keeping the Bent beers (including Dark Fatha ) and apparently brewing some of Kristen's beers. A new berliner was on tap at Ward 6 last week. Didn't make it there, but good to see that they recognize the demand for sour/wild beers.
