YOU NAILED IT! They were my favorite NYC area brewery during my 2 years in north Jersey.
Still enjoy their brews just a little hard to nab in Chicago area.

Just a guess, but you might either have come off as a douche or, more likely, be a douche.

Mixed case - I think Bengali, Sweet Action, Ryetous and Crisp? This was right when they started brewing at Lionhead and distributing out here. My sister lived in Brooklyn at the time and I had really enjoyed all of Sixpoints beers.

They all tasted overly yeasty, buttery...way off, many other locals confirmed. Somewhere I read that they were using Lionshead (kolsch) yeast strain for a bit?? By this time I was told I was "drinking the exact same beer" and I was perceiving that beer out of a can is different and to go suck eggs.

I'm not contesting the latter but this is the only thing I feel their beer is worthy of:

I have also had issues with Sixpoint beers that were contract brewed at Lion Brewery (Wilkes-Barre, PA). One batch of Crisp had a diacetyl problem (butter flavor) and one batch of Apollo suffered from an infection.

    Cheers!

Not to pile on fan-boy-dom, but I totally agree. Sixpoint isn't my favorite brewery, but Resin has a permanent spot in my fridge, and I have an enormous respect for their level of interaction here and on certain beer-related apps.

You really couldnt come up with 6 points as to why they are your favorite brewery?

issues with the lion brewery have been discussed on here, and while the sixpoint rep didn't flat out admit the issue, he was very receptive to the guy complaining and he sort of implied that the complainer was right. So to those of you ready to convict the complainer of being a d-bag, maybe you don't have all the information

Does this mean you've never tried the rest of the stuff?
We are open to suggestions on this topic as well. Clearly we have listened to previous customer feedback and manifested that feedback into improvements/amendments into our packaging and we are open to doing that in other elements of our production and distribution as well.

believe me, we know EXACTLY what you are talking about! ;-)

I find it interesting to hear that Sixpoint doesn't seem as well in the suburbs!

In any case, I'd like to second that I'd prefer bottled on dates... or both bottled on AND best by dates

    Stigs,

The general public should be aware that you were invited to have a direct dialogue with the President and Founder of Sixpoint Brewery, along with a direct dialogue with the brewhouse and production team, to discuss any issues that you may have had with any of the beers and you declined this offer. It was even offered that the Sixpoint staff was going to fly out to Pittsburgh at their expense to talk to you about it over a beer in person. Once again, you declined.

Instead, you opted to use the Sixpoint social media pages which are not the appropriate forums to stage a complaint.

So for the record once again, you are welcome and encouraged to have a productive dialogue on any issues that you might have had and we will certainly work attentively to rectify the situation, but we request you use the forums that are more appropriate for any specific issue that you may have had.

Our production team and President is willing to speak with you tomorrow. You may call the company phone number and ask for them, or send a private message to indicate your best contact number.

    Thanks.

City dwellers tend to be the early adopters and trend setters. There are always exceptions, but that's generally the case for many industries. By the time something becomes a sensation in the suburbs, its already mainstream.

Wait until you get a fresh one next year. The last cans of HI-RES rolled off the packaging line about 5 months ago.
