Dude at Deschutes yesterday said 70 cases for Portland Pub, no idea how many Bend got or what will go into distribution. He didn't have a bottle count. He did say, "they made a lot of beer, and it looks like some of it is going to go straight down the drain". I didn't inquire further.

But we all know he didn't set the bottle limits...

At Hair of the Dog, Wendy mentioned Alan brewed about a year's worth of Adam. If Adam is barely detectable in the final blend, those barrels have to go somewhere. Though I'll offer to drink them.

Got it. So maybe he was referring to all of the excess not used for the blends, hadn't considered that and couldn't figure out why the hell in their right minds they'd be dumping beer...

At the dinner, it was mentioned that 50 or 60 different barrels were used in the process. All of those did not make it into the final blend. But it's hard to believe they would just drain pour them.

Took about 2 minutes to tweet Deschutes and just ask. They said around 2,000 cases were distributed. This brings the bottle count to about 48,000 12oz. bottles.

What was the distribution/bottle count on King Henry?

From what I've read it was 12,000 bottles of 22oz., so about 2x as rare. Both are one-time brews.

hmm. i'd actually be interested in real figures about what happens with this release, though i don't think they'll be available.

maybe i'm way off point, but i think 50,000~ bottles of very expensive 12oz beer (people usually balk at $8 / 12oz) means that this beer will be pretty available for awhile. surely the trader niche + popularity of HotD and deschutes isn't so enormous that a release of that size and pricing will sell out in under 3 weeks... right?

re: value though, if you're dependent on trading for getting it, it's worth what people will give it to you for. if you think it ought to "trade lower," in reality that's just too bad for you.

And that's the biggest mark-up I've seen or heard about so far, at $14.50/bottle. Two other online stores have sold them, both at $12 a pop. I get price differences based on a store's location, but when it comes to online ordering it's just as easy to order from one place as it is from another.

Yeah, I've seen that one before - "pay a premium for 'free' shipping" ;-) You have to order six to get that deal, so you're paying $15 more than everywhere else to get it shipped for free.

    tomato, tomato, I say.

It's limit one..... I'm not saying that particular bottle isn't more than every other site I've seen it sold on, I'm just saying that site offers free shipping.

They have some beers listed for LESS than the same beers that are on shelves here locally.... I've almost ordered 6 beers from them before because it would save me $10 as opposed to buying it locally, but decided I didn't want 6 of them.

If they still had Supplication, I would seriously consider ordering one of the "Troegs Scratch" one Collage, a couple damnation, and a couple supplication..... I'm just thankful the Sanctification is gone because I'd be spending more money!

First time users get $10 off six beers too..... making the deal that much better. Just trying to put things in perspective.

    +1
I did this order with the discounts exactly as you mentioned... When I just had Collage in my cart, it was $35 total for 1 beer and shipping. I did some quick math and added 5 more out of market beers (for me) to the order and my new total for 6 beers was $42... Not sure I'll use the site again, but I'm happy with what I got for what I'm paying

OP, I can totally relate to what you went through. I bust up cans (and bottles) all the time, but I think it's mainly because I hired this guy:

    to open my packages.
