Pint Defiance posted on their FB that it's finally here. Let the whale hunting begin.

If I told you I would have to kill you, just kidding. The place I went to in north seattle is already out, they only got 1 case. The best way to get your hands on it is figure out when beer stores get their deliveries (FW is distributed in WA state by Anheuser Busch) and go there on that day, some stores get deliveries on tues, some wedns, some thurs. Each better beer store will receive about a case so keep your eyes peeled, it will be around town this week for sure.

Whole Foods RSQ gets shipments on Wednesdays. Worth checking.

And they'll put stuff on hold for you, as long you're already in the computer system.

I talked to Joel @ WF Roosevelt this afternoon. Apparently there was some kind of bureaucratic snafu related to WF being a "scan-in/scan-out" store (whatever that means) and, although AB delivered the beer today they had to put it back on the truck and take it back, or some such nonsense. I didn't really understand what he was saying and at first I thought he was joking. He said they'll have plenty but might not be til next week.

He's taking a reserve list so I had him put me down for two.

Really, a list? Thought that bs was a more of the middle of the country thing.

Joel is a good guy. He's looking out for people that actually want this stuff. Never heard of a list, though.

It seemed like he's doing this just for this beer, because of the screw up. He apologized to me a couple of times while we were talking, and said the distributor felt bad about the situation too. I still don't get what happened but I'm on a list.

I'll still pick up my bottles elsewhere first if I see them. Bird in the hand and all.

while i respect the choice to keep it secret where a select bottle is in stock (i'm sure there is a lot of lurkers), is it really necessary for FW bottles? seattle gets a ton of FW, and i've had no problem this year picking up sucaba or parabola weeks after release. why should stickee monkey be any different?

fwiw - whole foods seems to be the go-to, and bob's and chuck's seem to keep a good amount in-stock too.

No secrecy here; I got a bottle at Malt & Vine yesterday. They were making it a 1 bottle limit. My guess is that you're right; it will be abundant. FW claims to have made 3,500 cases of sucaba, parabola, and stickee monkee. If the previous 2 are lingering, the third should as well.

I suppose the logic in bottle limits, then isn't that it's really limited, but you have a group of people that only want 1 bottle and another group of people that want 2+. If it's limited now, but abundant later, the 2+ crew will snap it up and you may disappoint a bunch of people that just wanted 1 ... while the I'm sure the 2+ crew will be fine opportunistically grabbing more bottles later. I fall in that camp. Got my bottle, will most likely grab another 1 or 2 when I see it again.
