I just posted on another thread that Two Hearted is a beer that will always remind me of my early days of getting into craft. What are some other beers you guys consistently come back to.

    I like this thread.

1.) Sam Adams Octoberfest. Reminds me of when I first got into craft a couple autumns ago- and it really reminds me of watching college footballs and eating brats.

2.) Sam Adams Old Fezziwig. Kind of a retro video game nerd of sorts, and I used to drink this and play Zelda all the time by myself. It reminds of sweet solitude.

3.) Weyerbacher Riserva- my first sour, and had it as I was packing up my Army gear for my final turn-in.

This summer, I think I'm making Dale's Pale Ale a beer that will fit this category in the future. It's been a regular item in my backpack this summer during all sorts of activities.

Coors Light - first beer; fond memories of my first party with alcohol
Keystone Light - many fun times had in college with this
Sam Summer - this was my gateway beer
La Chouffe - taught me about beer complexity
Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van de Keizer Blauw aged for two years - this was my "Ah Ha" moment that turned me into a full blown BA with a cellar and everything

I always come back to Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse and some of the Saranac beers. Petes Wicked Ale was another early gateway beer but it is no longer brewed. After that would be Ommegang Abbey.

SS Taddy Porter and FS Session Lager. The former taught me that great brews didn't need big advertising budgets while from the latter I discovered that they didn't need big price tags.

I feel like I'm not old enough to be nastalgic about the "early days" of my drinking yet, as they're not even a decade gone.

But for grins: La Fin du Monde takes me back to my 21st, and Labatt Blue takes me back to my early 20s (as it was the official beer of my grandfather and the first house I lived in when I started drinking).

    Sam Adams stock ale.

I used to miss Pete's Original wicked ale, but the clone we have is damn close.

I love me some lionshead. I used to visit friends at Lock Haven and they had dollar 16oz at Hangar 9. Good times.

I'm drinking mine right now....Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout.

I'm also partial to the SS Taddy Porter as well. Salvator, Aventinus, and Optimator all remind me of a much younger time in my life, too. The Hofbrau Maibock brings me back too. Guinness and Murphy's also make me smile.
