Which brewery do you usually, or prefer to buy from? I find I'm typically purchasing from The Lost Abbey side but just very recently decided I wanted to try some of the Port stuff.

the only beer I've really enjoyed from Lost Abbey was Angel's Share (on tap). Every other beer I've had from them has been a disappointment and overpriced.

As far as Port goes, I've always enjoyed their beers, but recently QC issues with Hop 15 and Mongo have turned me off of them as well. I just don't like hoping the beer will be fine "this time."

edit: I actually love Serpent's Stout, so I'll amend the above to include that as well as the Angel's Share on tap.

Just tried my first bottle from each last weekend. No distribution in NY, so I found them in a bottle shop in NJ. Enjoyed Port Midnight Expression, Lost Abbey Judgement Day was okay.

Yeah Serpent's Stout might be my favorite stout.

I've always enjoyed Port beers and I haven't tried too many Lost Abbey brews due to the prices. Ironically I bought Lost Abbeys two most expensive beers haha (I think)...Red Poppy, which was amazing, and Deliverance, which I found to be a more "liquidy" version of KBS.

Both breweries make delicious beers; just get them on draft rather than bottles whenever possible. Too often they're just flat out of the bottle.

I have a preference for the Lost Abbey between the two, but have not bought anything from either in a while.

I've only had Avant Garde from Lost Abbey and enjoyed it. I'm definitely a fan of Port Brewing. The Hop15 I had recently was a little flat, but otherwise, I haven't been disappointed or had the problems that other people have.

I love me some Shark Attack from Port. I had some Serpant Stout a while back and it was super sweet, not very good. Then I had a year old Serpant and it was wonderful. I vote for Port just because the beers are much cheaper.

I enjoy brews from both, but will generally only order them on draft.

I prefer the Port side, but that's the hop head in me. Mongo is one of my favorite DIPAs. I just wish the shipments we are seeing around here were fresher.

I've probably had more Lost Abbey beers than Port, but as others have said they can be hit or miss—and at this price point I think it's fair to expect that the beer will be carbonated, at the very least. I was surprised by how much I liked Port Old Viscosity; Whole Foods had a 20% off all beer sale this Sunday so I finally picked up a bottle of Older Viscosity, a beer I've always balked at before due to the $17 price tag (375mL). $13.60 though? Sure, why not.

I've been to the brewery too; for some reason not what I expected. Just a big warehouse type building in an office park in the San Diego suburbs.

I've tried several beers from both breweries and now tend to lean towards Port but really don't buy either lately.

I am pretty much split between the 2. Love their tap room though. $1 tasters all day long...

Ha, yeah I'm sure once they get enough money they will open some crazy looking place.

No, I did not know that. Funny thing is, we went straight from the Stone Bistro to Port/Lost Abbey.
