Generally when you elbow someone that resembles a zebra, they don't like that. I love me some car-bomb, but what a stupid ass. C'mon man! You don't elbow the help, no matter how many calls they miss. You just "accidently" run into them...Learn how to play by the "rules". :grimacing:

Canadiens are starting to embellish a bit too much for my liking. Also very hard to root against MSL and what he went through.

Kings/Hawks tomorrow is just about as big of a game as they come.

I've never seen flopping like I have in this rangers series. Mtl has stooped to a new low. And they still can't beat us.

Well game 5 is among us. Will MTL survive or poop the bed? @belotj I hope you got a pic ready, just in case @anticipation23 gets eliminated tonight.(I'm still pulling for the MTL). Go HABS!

I saw Rick Nash slide face-first into Rene Bourque's skates tonight when Bourque scored his second goal. Nash damn near flipped him over twice by taking his feet out from under him... the Rangers are not innocent when it comes to flopping/diving/et al

I'm not holding out much hope of my Habs pulling this one out but they're sure gonna make it entertaining. Game 6 is going to be a shitshow at MSG.

Embellishment is happening both ways in this series. Last night proved that both ways.

Clean? What part? The shoulder or the elbow to the head follow through?

Same hit the other way and people were calling for Prust's head. It's a joke that as a hockey fan you would call that clean. Those are the types of hits that will result in the NHL becoming a different game. I have been saying for years, the NHL needs to be self policed. A hit like that should result in an automatic 10 game suspension. Player loses salary. Team loses roster spot. The next time a hit like that from same player happens, 20 games. Next time, you are no longer employable by the NHL. I am not saying this should be a no check league. I think that players need to be more conscious of hits like that. That hit could have resulted in what happened to Marion Hossa.(that boy still aint right) Protecting players and seeing a good game are what I am about. Dirty cheap shot artists have no room in the NHL. The hit last night was intentional from start to finish. He knew exactly what that elbow was going to do before it was thrown. Shame. If I didn't know any better I say he was trying out to be a broad street bully.....

the follow through was not violent. it was just part of the movement.

#1 - he didnt leave his feet.
#2 - he didnt aim for his head
#3 he hit him shoulder to shoulder
    #4 heads up in hockey!
5 minutes + ejection? lolol prust wasnt even called!

if ANYONE thinks the officials have been fair in this series, they need to reassess their morals.

My two cents on Moore's hit:

First, Moore has no history of being a cheap/dirty player but last night he was emotionally tied to Weise. Those boys were all over each other since Moore put him into the bench buckle. Props to Moore for that clean hit and to Weise for shaking that right off. On the open ice hit in question, Moore was definitely targeting him (and they will take into consideration his line leading to the hit), the puck was well enough off Weise's stick for Moore to hold up, Moore definitely left one foot, Moore definitely hit him high and Moore went right to the box without so much as a word to the officials.

Again, I don't think Moore is a dirty player. He just got infatuated with playing Weise physically and made a bad decision. Not all unlike Seabrook in round 1. With the precedent of the Prust hit so recent I think Moore definitely gets one game but I could see two here. Big loss either way.

As for the flopping, the Canadiens are on another planet from the rest of the NHL and it's offensive to the sport.

That was more like $.03 !!! :stuck_out_tongue: You make a valid point though. Moore isn't a dirty player. I over stated a bit as I am a little passionate about the whole hit thing. I would like to see a sport where players have more respect for one another. Hockey overall is one of the more respectable sports. Most of the players while aggressive on the ice, are respectful to one another. That seemed to be a premeditated hit. Moore might have not wanted the hit to the head, but much as you need to be in control of your stick, you need to be in control of your body. The fact that he never complained to an official and skated to the box without much jawing makes me think he felt somewhat bad for the hit. Even having said that, I still would like to see the automatic suspensions. It might help clean things up. Maybe make players think twice BEFORE a hit happens. I feel bad for Stepan as he got the worst of it with a broken jaw. Maybe if there were a better system or the Shan-Man made more consistent calls, Stepan jaw would still be in tact.

It just seems as hits like last night end up on the news and all the sudden we have people calling for a no check, no fighting league.

    Timmy = off soapbox.
