I asked Scott, via facebook, what other beers will be released this Saturday. He responded with the following.

"We haven't decided what else we're bottling yet. Bottling day will probably be Friday. It'll be two of the following three: Velocihoptor, Buffalo Hump, PaleTail."

So there you have it. 3 different beers.

Kick ass. Buffalo Hump is excellent. PaleTail is quite good, and I haven't tried Velocihoptor...but FT's track record with IPA's is solid enough that I'm banking on deliciousness.

I had Velocihopter last weekend it was damn good. 4.5 on Aroma. Taste not quite as amazing, but interesting enough since it utilizes a brand new hop variety called Falconer's Flight.

I don't want to crap on this thread, but has anyone else tried Freetail Three? I had a bottle the other night and it was dominated by butterscotch aroma and taste. Kinda let down by that one and I wonder if anyone else has had it yet or if I just got a funky bottle. I am hoping my other bottles are better!

A friend picked up 2 bottles for me. Haven't had a bottle yet, but on tap it was stellar. One of the best Freetail beers I have tried to date. Hopefully this was an isolated incident.

Same here. I've had it on draft a few times and it was great. It coincidentally ranks number 3 in all the FT beers I've had - behind Barrel Aged La Muerta and regular La Muerta. I got 8 bottles and traded/gave away 6. I still have 2. A few recipients of my bottles said they were great.

I am glad that I just got a dud, but now I can't trade what I have left in good faith. I will probably bring a bottle to a bottle share some time and just age my remaining bottle for awhile in case it could smooth out the buttery taste.

I unfortunately won't be able to make it to the release :slight_frown: If anybody in SA or Austin picks up any extra OBR, let me know.

What time is this starting? This is my first bottle share so if anyone can provide me with some tips on beer sharing etiquette that would be great. I know that sounds silly, but is there a bottle minimum to bring? Is there a moderator? Should the personal glassware be sample size?

I have never been to a Freetail bottleshare, so I would also like to know, do we need to bring our own glassware? I am glad someone reminded me to think of this.

Bring your own glassware. No minimum bottle limit but generally a few nice bottles, something you can't get in Texas, rare, vintage, yada yada. I'll be showing up at around 9ish. And there is no moderator it's basically a freeforall. I'm sure others will chime in.

I am bringing a Camelback that I am telling everyone is full of water, but it is actually going to be full of St Lamvinus

Funny, I was thinking about doing the same thing with Sink the Bismark.

At Freetail now having lunch with my better half. Spotted 30 cases of Buffalo Hump sitting next to the cooler. Definitely one of my favorite IPAs from them. It'll be nice to bring home some bottles.

If anyone that snags an extra bottle would be willing to mule me one back to Austin I'd make it worth while. Im going to the Ananke release for sure. That is a MUST

Turns out those Buffalo Hump cases were filled with empty bottles. They've announced that Velocihoptor and Paletail will be released on Saturday alongside OBR.

I probably shouldn't say this because I love Freetail, but has anybody made the connection, especially the mug club members that paying more then say $6 for Velocihopter and Paletail would be crazy? I mean on Tuesday I can fill my Mug for $2.50, happy hour $4 and any other time $5, oh wait and $3 on Sunday. I suppose it's good trade bait if you have something set up already, but I'd rather pay less and enjoy it fresh off the tap!
