Forgive my ignorance but I was able to procure a 16.9 oz bottle of this, which is admittedly out of my comfort zone, but I figured I've never had a Prairie beer of any sorts and that it's supposed to warm up this weekend, so the style of beer sounded interesting.

My question is all I can find on the Net is that its only available at 7% and the bottle I have is listed at 8.5%. I was hoping some of my BA brethren with more Prairie experience than I could tell me what gives...?

Must be a bad bottle, send it my way! I dont know anything about the abv difference, but I can tell you I loved it when I got to try it.

Good to hear that you enjoyed it. Waiting until Sunday to have it when it's supposed to hit 80 degrees here.

The abv thing is really throwing me off. I obviously don't have any problem with the added 1.5% but I can't find anything, not even on the Prairie website.

Yea I just tried looking around and like you said even Prairie's website shows it at 7%.

Haha, I'm not going that far. I see a shitload of BAs drinking Prairie stuff here, why not ask?

The bottles we got here in Tallahassee are all listed as 8.5% abv as well. I haven't had my bottle yet, but I'm sure it will be as wonderful as everything else I've had from Prairie.

Hope that vacation did you well- I'm sure this puncheon will add a nice touch to the holiday- puncheon was amazing - ice cold - just the right amount of funk .. I found it better than the collabo they did with omnipollo

Yep. Definitely feel good, and still off til Tuesday, too....
Was pretty stoked to find this on the drive home, although it was a bit pricey. Fuck it, can't wait to drink this when it's nice and warm out.

I'm trying to figure out what comfort zone this beer is outside of for you, and also why the different ABV would throw you off so much. Not trying to be a dick, but still perplexed.

I'm more of a stout, porter, pale ale, IPA guy so the farmhouse type styles are ones I'm not overly familiar with. I will say Boulevard Tank 7 I loved, so, I figured I'd at least try it.
No offense taken, was just surprised when I brought the bottle home and could only find the 7% version everywhere. I consider some (Repeat, some, haha) of you experts so I figured I'd ask here as to whether anyone else had it before. This is the first Prairie beer I've ever had too, so I'm not familiar with the brewery other than what I've seen on these forums.

Howdy. The previous 750mL C&C format says 7% on the bottle. The more recent batch in the 16.9 fl. oz. capped format says 8.5%. Just guessing they haven't updated the spec since the original batch? Hope that helps.

Yes it does. I guess, different batch, basically the same general beer. Thank you.

This has happened with Bomb where some labels have said 11% and some have said 12%.

I hope you enjoy the Puncheon. It is not nearly the best Prairie has to offer in the farmhouse/funky/sour line, but it is still a nice brew that will go well with 80 degree NY weather. Cheers!

I'm hoping it's not too sour...
    *candid moment*
I've had GI Lolita, Westbrook Gose and 2 differnt 7th Suns and I didn't like any of them. I'm just not into the sours but I've had the Tank 7, the Westbrook Thomas Bearded Farmer and the GD Collette and enjoyed all 3.
