I think we all just need to accept that when TG announces that something will last the weekend, it means it will be gone the day it is released. This will spare the dissapointment of those who can't make it the day of.
EX. 1. Mornin Delight on tap a few months ago predicted to last the weekend; cashed in 18 minutes
    2. David and NT to last Thursday-Monday; NT gone Friday at 12:30 and David going quickly.
They are great at brewing beer and always awesome hosts but they underestimate the demand frequently. Remember, they have plenty of other great beer on tap!

There's no way you can run a business and listen to the people and accidentally underestimate the demand. I'm not buying that for a second. They know EXACTLY what they are doing.

My money is going elsewhere this weekend, not that TG will care, and I don't expect them to. I wouldn't be worthy even if I showed up because I don't have endless pockets.

Buddy said they had a no-limit on Sosus the last time he went. The guy in front of him bought 8 cases. They need to rethink limits.

I don't know, last time we had Naughty Temple in stock it sat on the shelf for a few days and we only got in a case or two (I forget). Not sure why anyone would spend $600 on 2 cases of that beer (or really any beer...), but I guess that's what you need to do in order to trade for the other beers. I'm still happy to drink their pale ales around town and finding a few random one off kegs. The bottle lust really confuses me.

What the fuck do people do with 96 bombers of a DIPA? That's just mind-boggling and absurd. Yeah, limits need to be set. This is getting insane.

They sure know how to make beer up there...as far as selling it, I don't think they've figured that part out yet. You've also got to put blame on hoarders though. I guarantee there were people buying 2 cases of NT and bringing friends to buy 2 cases. $300 bucks/case $600/2 cases. That's just insane.

On the other hand, why the hell are you selling 2 cases at a time of a limited beer? TG lost an extended weekends worth of visitors by crapping their pants on this one. Anyone hear how much Assassin bottles might be now that its heading to distro? $25 for NT without distro, I've got to believe that Assassin will cost more than $25 wholesale, markup on that could put it above $30. I'll stick to TG's draft selections and let the crazies truck chase bottles from here on out.

When they said they wanted to be a destination brewery did they mean a destination for hoarders?

A two fucking CASE limit? Seriously? This is just like the King Sue situation all over again. Sure, let people come in and fill 12 growlers. Don't care that your beer is the most sought after in the STATE and maybe the surrounding states. I'm super happy they are so popular, but it completely SUCKS that they allow people to buy as much as they want and it doesn't even last 24 hours. That feels really crummy as a customer that can't drive to Decorah on a Thursday night to buy the best beer in the state. :slight_frown: :slight_frown: :slight_frown:

They want to distribute the Assassin this year so they don't have a Huna Day on their hands. I get that. But by allowing people to buy 2 cases of very limited beer at a time aren't they going to have a Huna Day type problem in the future? When something like this drops again there could be a shit ton of people show up knowing it's not going to last even a day. And as far as the hoarders, perhaps TG is looking at these individuals as part of their distribution team, getting their beers distributed to other parts of the country with BA trades.

A friend and I (we both are in CF) are going up in the morning...looks like we'll probably miss out on David, too. If we do miss it, and if others haven't already bought them from you, I'd take you up on your offer for a bottle of David. NT (and BA beers in general) really aren't my thing, but I was hoping for a chance to try David.

Seriously though, nice gesture. I appreciate that.

Just to clarify the Huna day reference. CCB had hundreds maybe a thousand counterfeit tickets show up which caused Huna bottles to run out. Little different situation IMO. CCB ALWAYS has limits on bottles and growler fills of its whalez.

On a side note, I got my first taste of pseudo sue last weekend and wow!! Would love try some of their other offerings. Might be wishful thinking considering this thread

I mentioned Huna because it was brought up as a reason why they were going to distribute Assassin. I should have clarified that I was talking about the mass of people that would show up at TG since it's such a small place. If I'm not mistaken I think I remember reading that somewhere, TG worried about the large crowd potential with Assassin. And that Sue is good shit.

Blah blah blah blah.... Still go there, give them money, they give you tap beer, share bottles you bring with others, have fun, high five, love life, and enjoy the weekend.
No one is entitled to limited beer.
I'll be there tomorrow if anyone wants to have a drink.

    Cheers, josh

While I understand the frustration of some, its better to see them sold out, rather than not succeed... I dont want to live in a beer world without Sue

Congrats to @tgchief and the Crew , I dont really know of a brewery that has the success/demand that they do currently, I wish them the best moving forward, it cant be easy having this much demand (especially local) and only so much production, Im sure the guys would love to be able to fill the current demand but that seems entirely impossible. Situations like this remind me to stay level headed about beer, While I'd love to try some of the more limited TG offerings, Im more than content driving 25 minutes to fill my growlers full of Sue at the Nova. I'm sure my time will come to try some of the more limited releases.

Trade demand is ridiculously high for TG. You know that a lot of the two case purchases will be up for some big time trading. I was unable to attend as well, although did get some Sue from Johncys today. It will be interesting to see how much Naughty is up on the boards for trade from the hoarders when many of us just wanted a bottle. That's how it goes though.

Are you serious? Did you even read my trade post? I asked for specific beers from Jester King. My post was not an auction in any shape or form. As all traders are aware, there's often more than one offer which is what meant by "we will see what comes through". I am not sure what you are getting at but you are making assumptions and false accusations without even bothering to read my post.

You told bottlecaps to make an offer, like an auction. NT from last year was worthless trade wise. I ended up extraing it. NT for sours is silly, says the guy who has traded Sue for DDG many times

No I didn't mean it that way at all man. I just had no idea what he had or wanted to trade! I can't believe all the crap you're giving me for offering up my only bottle. No intentions of doing anything over $4$ on this.
