gave serious thought to going down there today but couldn't bring myself to do it. If anyone end up bringing some extra bottles back to RDU area I'd love to trade for them

It was a borderline shitshow, considering it was for a beer that is going into distribution. I guess there was about 200 people in line at 4pm.

Fuck. Seriously? I'm asking because my in-laws are still on the road there and I would rather save them the trip for nothing :/

Grabbed my 12 (thanks to my mule aka girlfriend) and then had to stand in the chaos to pay for my Gose. The MC line moved pretty quickly, but the bar line needed to have a a little more organization. Would have been awesome if you could have paid for all your stuff in the MC line.

    Overall, well done Westbrook!

That sucks if you didn't get any but no need to hate on Westbrook. They already cut the limit in half. What did you want them to do turn down people at 4:30 so you could get some at 5:15. Beer releases are crazy these days, and I'm in agreement that that sucks. But no need to say mean things about the brewery. It's not their fault they make a popular beer.

Define shitshow. There were a lot of people but it was well organized and everyone was friendly and civil, which is more than can be said about many other big beer releases.

Thanks out of town guys. Guess I'll have to find some in distro (maybe). This local had to work. How do people just take oof all the time to hit up out of town breweries?

If these breweries would brew these beers more than once a year (say a batch every 4 months) then maybe it wouldn't be a shit show for every single release. I know you have to take in to account the time these beers hold up fermentation vessels and cant let it interrupt the regular production schedule but I do think it could be done. When you put a out such a stellar product that is so limited and no one knows how much or how long it will be available then your always going to have that crazy atmosphere surrounding these releases... or hell maybe you would just have 3 bat shit crazy days a year instead of one with the way things have been going lately. Hopefully I can make a trip up and find some at a bottle shop or its ISO-FT for me. lol

Traffic is backed up because of shitty SC drivers who want to stop and look at an accident that happened on the OTHER side. 6 bottle limit per person.

Hey, hey, let's leave those on BP meds out of it. :grinning:

PS - I'm technically on a low dosage beta blocker, but its the same thing.

Wow, I owe the wife big time! Took her almost 2 hours to get there and we work 20 minutes from the brewery, thanks to a nasty snarl on 526. When she pulled up, she called me cussing. Saw several folks leaving with cases a and the line was outside the building. She got 6 though! Wasn't this bad last year.

Never fails around here. Every freakin' Friday, the traffic is horrible. Guess that's the price of living in a tourist destination.

SC is either #1 or #2 on the list of the worst drivers in the country. That's why! AND everybody's on their damn smart phones.

Yep, we were voted #1! I remember when it used to be taboo to talk on your phone and drive. Those were the days....

Headed there tomorrow. I should have some extras if they did not run out.

EDIT: Never mind... Looks like they sold out. I will still keep a lookout in distro this week.
