Quick history of Fat Heads. Originally started as a restaurant in Pittsburgh, that served monster sandwiches and had an awesome tap list. They actually had Rogue brew a beer called, Fat heads Ale, which is now Youngers Special Bitter. THen they opened the Ohio brewpub and bottling facility in Cleveland. So I refer to Fat Heads as being a Pittsburgh brewery, even though, technically all beer is brewed in Ohio. Fat Heads is distributed in Indiana, Ohio, Western PA, and parts of Florida.
I'm from north of Pittsburgh, so its on tap EVERYWHERE and on every bottle shop shelf. I'm going to assume you are in the Eastern Side of PA, which is why you cant find it. I travel to Happy Valley a few times a year, and Ive never even seen it there. So, I don't think they distribute past Johnstown/Altoona.
Ill be traveling to Lancaster at some point this summer, would gladly bring you some if you want if that's close for you.

 

No problem. From seekabrew, Fat Heads and dark horse are the only "limited" breweries that Pittsburgh gets, haha. Philly gets all the good ones, RR, FW, alesmith, captain Lawrence, cigar city, evil twin, jester king, lost abbey, sixpoint, spring house, perennial, and the bruery.

 

We get Deschutes (just the basics, black butte, etc. They just started distributing a month ago), Thirsty Dog, some Ithica (Flower Power I have seen around), and some Allagash (not the good stuff, haha).
No Cascade, HOTD, or Fifty Fifty.

 

Fat Heads is an Ohio brewery that's why the location in Pittsburgh is called the Fat Heads Saloon but I understand why we disagree haha. They will actually be a multi state brewery once the Portland location opens because they will be brewing there but it'll always be an Ohio brewery to me because Matt Cole is the guy who makes this place go.

One of his assistant brewers recently left and is starting up his own place in Ohio City called Platform brewing company...sounds like a really cool concept and I'm really looking forward to see what they do.

My target's box is packed. Several wants ticked and a barrel aged brew to taste as well.

There is nothing more exciting than knowing I still have two boxes coming, but no clue when. It turns an average day into an awesome one when an employee walks in my office with a box I wasn't expecting
