NAW - Rakau Showers

Why not wait for it to hit stores in a couple days?

 

I love the "Showers" line.

 

Initial reaction on untappd looks pretty positive. A few mentions of pineapple and coconut to describe the hop character. One user ranked it just behind Citra and Nelson showers. But honestly untappd ratings are a crapshoot.

 

Unfortunately, this one is my least favorite of the series thus far. As some have mentioned above, this hop is a bit subtle and in my opinion too subtle to carry a DIPA on it's own. It's certainly pretty decent and I really want to like it, but it's not tremendous.

 

all the Rakau fanbois are just trying to downplay it so they can keep it for themselves

 

Bummed I'm going to be out of town starting tomorrow -- this would've been a nice addition to my Memorial Day drinking.

 

Really liking this one, maybe right alongside TBA. (And more than Amarillo and Simcoe.)

 

I'm tempted to grab a few of these when my shop gets them. Like you I enjoyed TBA, but the previous releases have done nothing for me, definitely not making the drive over to NAW for two bottles.

Will stop in today on the way to bro-in-laws place to pick up 2 bottles and a taste. Any showers is worthy of a taste and at least one bottle. But the price of $9 a bottle is killing me. Off subject the Mosaic Session Ale is worth a try. And a growler fill if you cant find bottles around.

 

Yesterday WF Pasadena had them for 7.99 a bottle.
