Boulevard's Rye on Rye is a really good super high ABV beer that is almost a hybrid of a whiskey/beer. Needless to say it is a an excellent sipper.

At Barley and Hops in Frederick, MD some local homebrewer won a 2013 award (not sure for what contest) but the pub has allowed the homebrewer to use their facility to brew / sell his recipe on site of a German Roggenbier (basically a rye based Heffewiesen). Got to say it is one of the best beers I've every had (out of the nearly 900 I've sampled and rated) and easily the best tasting Heff I've ever tried. I'm trying to find out who this guy is and if he's planning to distribute this thing outside of the 1 Barley and Hops restaurant. I've sent some of my other beer nerd friends in and they all came to the same conclusion that this beer is absolutely amazing.

Anybody know what's the beer with the highest percentage of rye in the mash?

Might not be readily available, but Siren Craft Brew - Ryesing Tides is delicious.

It's a seasonal, but keep an eye out for Southern Tier 2XRye in the fall. There is just enough citrusy hops to enhance the boatloads of rye flavor, and it's got a killer full mouthfeel to it.

I recently had some of the new Roaad Warrior (or at least new packaging) from Green Flash. It was the most amount of rye I've ever tasted in a beer - but delicious, highly recommended.

The Founders Red's Rye is also great I order it on draft every chance I get - it needs to be fresh.

I never get excited by the Ruthless Rye. Its just okay.

It's very hard to use more than 30% rye due to the stickiness. The Boulevard Westside Rye I posted earlier uses 30%, and if I recall correctly Red's Rye uses 20%. If you're asking because you want to taste the rye, I'd recommend seeking out "straight" rye beers, roggenbiers, etc. and not rye IPAs. Also recommend avoiding anything using caramel malts which can easily overshadow the rye flavor.

If you're in SLC, try Desert Edge Brewery's rye ale, it is so balanced and smooth.

    Wookie Jack. Black Rye IPA.

I've enjoyed rye in various beers, but Wookie Jack blows them all away, IMO. It's also my favorite black IPA.

not ruthless... please. kind ryed was phenomenal, however it was a seasonal so not available till next fall. Permagrin from Lawson's is also far too underrated as well as Rich and Dan's from Harpoon if you can get if fresh on tap.

I like Founders Rye on Rye quite a bit, as well as Lenny's RIPA, but unfortunately this winter that beer didn't seem to be available in 12 oz bottles out here in Seattle. Sierra Ruthless is pretty good, not phenomenal.

Two other ryes I've had in the midwest that are exceptional are Bell's Smitten, and Cane and Ebel (from Two Brothers).

If you get out to the Seattle area, check out Reuben's Brews. They do quite a few excellent rye beers. Their Imperial Rye IPA has won some prizes. Several of their rye beers are bottled. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/29693/
