Yep, it's pretty much a no-brainer in MN.

    Here's my Ohio neighbor ranking.
    1. Michigan - Bell's, Founders, Dark Horse, Short's, Odd Side,...
    2. Pennsylvania - Troeg's, Victory, Weyerbacher, ...
    3. Indiana - Three Floyds is the only brewer I'm super familiar, but I know the IN scene is booming.
    4. Kentucky - because it's better than #5.
    5. West Virginia - I've heard they have a brewery!

BFD is that it's the whole point of the thread.. :stuck_out_tongue: Not "favorite brew state besides your own"

"CA doesn't have.. except Oregon"- Seriously, pick any other state. Chances are it only has one, MAYBE two neighboring states with good beer, just like your state.

That damn West Coast sense of entitlement..

All's I gotta say is, thank God for Oregon beer. OR breweries > WA breweries on every level for me, which is depressing because I like supporting my home turf. I guess Elysian and Fremont are okay but I just don't go to them very much.

Living in upstate NY, pennsylvania is a great bordering state in my opinion (even though i havent gotten down there to visit them recently)......Victory, Troegs, Weyerbacher. Its a bordering state but still a 6 hour drive to those breweries.

I would say Vermont but alas havent had the great opportunity to even try the alchemist, lawsons, or hill farmstead...ANY OF THEIR BEERS.....so i will go with pennsylvania by default

Probably Vermont, but Maine would be in a very close, practically a tie second place.

You forgot Newburgh Brewing, Defiant, Hyde Park Brewing Co, The Gilded Otter, and Keegan Ales. All of these are less than an hour or so from the North Jersey border, all off of I-89 in Rockland County/Hudson Valley

Great South Bay and a couple of others on LI as well

Ommegang's a little further up in Cooperstown, and Ithaca and Southern Tier are up in forever away, so I know you're not counting them, but still great breweries.

I'd definitely have to go NY over PA tho

Minnesota - I love driving up to the Twin Cities and filling my belly with local brews like Surly, Indeed, Dangerous Man, and Summit, and my car with stuff we don't get in Iowa like Ballast Point, Lagunitas, Kona, Odells, and more.
