Really looking forward to this - as far as I can tell no specific release date yet.

The title made me think this was going to be a rye beer, and I was really excited.

This still sounds interesting, but the thought of Stone doing a rye had me really happy.

Considering Oak Aged Bastard is my favorite of the series...I think I shall buy this one if I see it.

I've had this on tap it's pretty damn tasty. Barrel aging works wonders on Stone brews. Southern Charred was top notch.

How have you had it on tap? Unless you're referring to Oaked AB.

    Speaking of Southern Charred...ISO!!

I believe it was on tap at Brouwers Cafe in Seattle a month or so ago.. maybe as an extra for the barleywine fest or stout fest. I can't remember.. but I'm pretty positive it was aged in Templeton barrels, so I'm assuming this must be it. Have you had Southern Charred before?

Edit: Further research looks like it may have been leftover from this event: http://brouwerscafe.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-holdiaze-are-in-full-swing-and.html

Most beers aged in Templeton Rye barrels serve to benefit HIGHLY from it. Brau Brothers Rye Wyne and Topping Goliath's Naughty Temple were both aged in Templeton Rye barrels and are two of the best barrel-aged beers to hit my lips. Hope this gets bottles and we see some here!

Just waiting for the ABV to be clocked at 12.1%, excluding another barrel aged stone beer from Ohio distribution.

Ohio legislation raising the limit is looking much more promising than their last attempt!

Indeed, though I try not to underestimate people's ability to get in the way of progress.

Not sure about the leftover comment, but about a month ago I remember Stone posting pics of tap lists showing "Arrogant Bastard in Templeton Rye Barrels" or something like that. Also some doodles that the label art above probably turned in to. Jealous you already got to try it! I bet it was great based on Southern Charred.

I had it on tap a couple of months ago. I feel like the base beer is just too damn hoppy for barrel aging. It's a little awkward honestly.
