I'll be honest, when they first started brewing beers at The Lion, I swore some of their beer was "inconsistent". But in all honesty again I've started to drink more of their beer recently and I can say I've enjoyed it all and any issues they may have had have been rectified. I've had a whole bunch of Hi Res, Resin, Sweet Action and just recently Begali Tiger. I know the Bengali Tiger is the old recipe, but I had some over the weekend that was terrific.

For me, Sixpoint is doing things right and they will continue to get my business.

I like Sixpoint for many reasons too… but mainly because almost 10 years ago @Sixpoint (shane) gave me his sixpoint jacket right off his back during a snow storm at EBF 2000 something. love the beers and the people. keep it up!

and to add… I am a professional brewer and have been on BA for 10+ years. just not so active these days. better get myself back into it I guess...

@YamBag and @Kadonny , as Shane posted last Saturday: “We are no longer currently canning at Lion Brewery. We currently brew out of Brooklyn NY at our own facility and Memphis TN at an alternating proprietorship to handle our limited, regional distribution footprint in the United States and select international markets.”

I think it is very, very good new that Sixpoint is no longer having their beers brewed at Lion Brewery and instead is having them brewed at City Brewing in Memphis, TN.

    Cheers to Shane (@Sixpoint)!

I used to help brew there. Sixpoint is a horrible brewery. None of those things listed are true. The owner is a horrible person. Some of the most over rated beers out there. Take it from me I used to make the stuff.

Did you participate in brewing Sixpoint beers at the Lion Brewery?

    Cheers!

The fact that you just said "None of those things listed are true" pretty much destroys your credibility - it is certainly at least true that Sixpoint has a consistent dialogue with its consumer base. Just notice how much Sixpoint has replied to this thread.

Sixpoint also clearly has a mobile beerfinder app and a section of its website dedicated to reporting expired beer. Both of these things are objectively true.

And u stating that they do these things proves u know nothing about the ACTUAL brewery. Im not here to argue with an internet personality like urself. Im just passing the info I gathered when I worked there. None of the original employees that worked there when Suxpoint started work there anymore, coincidence?

WOW! I certainly know to never hire you. I will assume you don't want to work in the beer business with an attitude like that. I don't know you, but from just this post alone, you should consider working in a different industry. we are all buds here for the most part.

Sixpoint always has been and always will be a staple in my fridge. Maybe its a local/regional thing, or maybe its that the beers are consistently fantastic. Thats all I really need.

First off I have no affiliation with six point. I'm a country bumpkin in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife and I buy a lot of beer in Kentucky (our home state) when we visit there. My wife was in a rush visiting her grandma and stopped off the interstate and grabbed me a bunch of beer she knew I would appreciate. 3 packs of these beers were out of date six point product. I was disappointed because I thought she wasted our hard earned money.

I sent six point an email telling them they have out of date product at a store (I named the store to them) and told them they should probably check into that. I also said maybe we will have better luck shopping next time. I didn't ask for anything. I didn't cuss, I didn't swear them off, I didn't say much really other than to inform them so they can fix that. They asked for my contact info.

Today I open a care package from six point replacing everything my wife mistakenly bought. Not only did they replace the out of date product, they replaced the product I told them didn't expire for two more months. A few notes on how they are improving: They have switched to 6 packs for some things, added better description on the packaging, and mine says May 15, 2014. So I assume they switched to packaged dates.

I couldn't ask for better customer service. They went above and beyond for me. Why? Probably because they care. They could have said it's my wife's fault for not checking the date. They could have said to check back with that store for a return. But no. They did the right thing and I appreciate them as a company.

Why do I like Sixpoint? Everything is tasty and it all comes in CANS. Not to mention, those stovepipe cans (for higher ABV) are pretty darn badass. Looking forward to moving back to Sixpoint distro territory soon.

    ...and did I mention Hi-Res?

I refuse to buy anymore six point unless its the resin or hires. I don't believe in this no style on the label shit. I want to know what I'm drinking

guess I ate my words on that one. When did they stray away from the " we don't believe in styles" deal? Wait is that sweet action just labeled as "ale"?

It is. I'm not walking out to the garage to check but I think it says "cream ale" on the can somewhere.

I trust you. But for me most of their beer is mediocre and made to appeal to the masses. They are a business so they need to make money so I see why that would be their purpose. They seem to have a great following so good for them.

You are not the only person to feel that way. I am very excited about this new packaging.

Can you clarify what you meant by "appeal to the masses" and give an example of some other breweries who don't brew beer to appeal to the masses, assuming they brew beer for the minority of beer drinkers only?

According to brewery owner Shane "Sixpoint" Welch they are:

That seems unlikely, since "Sixpoint" has stated he doesn't consider Sweet Action a "cream ale":
And from the COLA from last month:
