Well that eliminates you from my list. Down to just 2 for me I believe.

 

I'm guessing I'm a little too close to be your target, but my town is teeeeeeny; I know you're on the Cape -- does that mean your town is "Cape Cod"? (I'm actually probably not really "Southwest" of you either, but I'm down to my final 5 and having a tough time narrowing it down)

 

I had you pencilled in as my possible sender but hhmmm....there are two of us in the lone star state. One of us is going to have a great weekend!

 

I have you as one of my five possible senders (and if I had to guess would pick you), but definitely don't feel confident. Especially since I think you have about 7 possible targets. Either way I guess it can't hurt to update my wants...

That's what I was afraid of :-). I still think I've eliminated you, although it's embarrassing how much effort I put into doing that.

 

Going through yesterday's hints, it'd help to know what town you're in!

That felt a little stalkery, if he told me what his town was it wouldn't feel that way...

Did it anyway though and I think he might be my sender... My town is 5509, whereas 1/6 of his town is 5443... doesn't get too much closer than that, and I'm not stalking everyone in the BIF to see who else lives in towns in the mid-5000s.

I've eliminated all but 6 for sure. If I assume MD and NJ aren't my sender's states as they border my own, I'm down to 4, mkhartnett, poorpatz, raulazzer, and rspauldi. mkhartnett and raulazzer, while not eliminated, haven't given any clues that make me think it is them. Both rspauldi and poorpatz gave 'size of' clues that PA/my town fit pretty close, but I think 'size of town' is more likely exclusive to me than 'size of state' (besides there's 2 PA)... so I can't say for sure (other people might be in a town of 5000ish) but I'm leaning that way.

 

Well, he was the one who brought it up, and it's like that you found his name. You could have also taken your town, multiplied by six, and then looked up all the towns on the Cape and seen if anything was close. And ofr what it's worth, I actually thought he was talking area, not population, but you were probably right.

Yeah, our lists our similar based on scarcity of hints -- my final five include your final four. I actually went through all the hints and figured out who they COULDN'T be (worked from the opposite direction) and that helped.

And by the way - "stalkery" is an awesome word...

 

I'm pretty sure I have my sender identified (although future hints may change that) and updated my wants accordingly. But I would honestly be pretty happy with almost anything I can't get around here, and San Diego has a lot of that :-). I do, however, have plenty of access to Stone and Green Flash so would probably not be quite as excited with those.

As a matter of fact...

Hint #10 (and the last one I plan on giving) -- my target will be receiving a want from one of the breweries I just mentioned

Thanks, I thought it was too as I was contriving it... "compare my town x6 to all the towns in Cape Cod" sounded like too much work, but you're right, he did bring it up first.

If poorpatz is still on other people's lists though, I'm less confident about him being my sender; I had almost eliminated him when he said that his target had no 'local' wants, the town size/notable residents hints seemed to point pretty directly at me, but I suppose not necessarily only at me. I'm not sure what he includes as local, but I've got HF, Lawson's, and SA Utopias are on my list... I guess I really do have 4 possible options still.

Edit: make that 3, raulazzer just eliminated himself since I've had >200 wants for a while, so "started with 0, now over 100" couldn't be me.

 

MN (Surly?), MA (Trillium?), or TX (St Arnold?) ... I think I'll be happy no matter what, I just better not get a whole case of Shiner Bock or Sam Adams Lager

Yep, I'm the guilty party. I kept adding wants based on narrowing down my sender. And now will add St. Arnold for future reference based on your recommendation.

 

I have been told that I have a tendency to 'overanalyze' things, just a wee bit....

Well now that you know your sender is SoCal, you should be more worried about adding Stone one-offs, Habanero Sculpn, Port Brewing/Lost Abbey, and Alpine!

That said, if you want to add more TX, also look into Jester King and Oklahoma's Prairie. Never been, but from a friend down there I'm told those are the three best in the area. Everyone else, feel free to disagree/contribute others.
