I hate to be Mr Obvious, but I think we can count FFF ("we're not normal") and Stone (ever read the bottle of anything 'Bastard'?).

Shane, I have not. I still am not seeing the new Bengali on shelves here yet. I'll look again this week.

Keith, I am not a beer distribution expert but my guess is that you will not be seeing any of the new Sixpoint beers on the retailers shelves until the 'old' Sixpoint beers are sold off (unless Sixpoint has a buy back agreement in place with the Wholesale Distributor: Origlio?).

    Cheers!

A couple years ago, I bought a pack of Bengali Tiger, and the seals on the cans were broken, so my beer was super flat. I got in touch with @Sixpoint and they immediately took care of me. Shane got involved right away and did everything he could to make right on the problem. They sent me a huge care package. That simple act of kindness will make me a fan of them for as long as I can buy their beers.

I would also prefer a canned/bottled on date. Please use 'normal', easy to read dates as well: for example "Canned on: 7/1/2014",

So, in other words, don't be surprised to see much of the 'old stuff' end up in mix a six sections of my beer stores?

    That is awesome.

Conversely, I wrote to Lefthand Brewery several times last year (Until they finally responded) to let them know that a pack of milk stout nitro was absolutely flat, no matter how HARD I poured it. completely vertical, letting it pour straight down in to the bottom of a pint glass did absolutely nothing. Their response: pour harder. :slight_frown:

You are not alone. i have heard stories of breweries rushing to the glass of the consumer to ensure them that their "experiece "was important to the brewer. I have not met this attitude yet. AND I have had legitimate issues that I have written to the brewer. They shall remain nameless but I will never buy them.

Agreed, but from what Shane was saying, I think Origlio has the new ones already, so I'm hoping they do start shipping them very soon. I'm hopeful.....don't squash my hope!

I'm excited to try some beer from Sixpoint they seem like an awsome brewery that respects and utilizes their customer base I can only hope they taste half as good to me as they do to others

This wouldn't be the first time that Origlio has 'sat' on product.

My apologies for squashing your hope.

    Cheers!

I definitely agree with a good bit of what you say here. On that token I'm no scientist, but I can say from personal experience most IPAs/doubles/triples do not taste very "good" in the 3-4 month range. Some will be decent, but I've even drain poured 3.5 month old Blind Pig that was refrigerated the whole time. It was gross. As my roommate and I always say, let us decide when the "best by" date is/should be. If you give me/other informed consumers a born on date, we will be infinitely happier. Regular folks don't even know to look for them (I know I sure didn't when I was barely 21 and a newcomer to craft), and the people who care about quality will be able to make a far more informed decision. If I saw 1.5 month old Resin among a bunch of good hoppy beers, chances are I'd still pick it up.

Oh and make sure to put the born on date on the packaging itself if yall do switch to that method. Founders All Day is quickly becoming one of the best selling beers in Louisiana because of the 15 packs with the canned on date clearly printed on the box. All of my beer geek friends here are keeping this as the house beer these days - it's a better system for everyone is the general consensus.

So why wouldn't the style be put on the label?

To each their own, but the "one reason" why Sixpoint is NOT my favorite brewery is:

    1. Their beers are mediocre at best.

It's not the can (I've had some decent canned stuff elsewhere) and I applaud their efforts - but the beers of theirs I tried (Resin, Three Beans, Global Warming, Bengali Tiger) were lesser examples of the style where applicable, and in every case, not memorable IMHO.

For those who like them, rock on with your bad selves. But for every dude jerking himself silly over a beer, there is probably another dude rolling his eyes in disbelief. :sunglasses:

Agreed. Hi-Res was crazily good—one of those beers that I enjoyed quite a bit more than my numerical rating might suggest.

What about a session IPL? :-)

Because to be frank I would drink the shit out of that. I'm dying to try Jack's Abby's new one.

Yeah, you know I've said it until I'm blue in the face. At first I just wanted 3beans back, now I want HiRes back. I love this brewery, on board all the way. I know your probably like, not this guy again, but bring back 3beans it has a following and it was honestly one of your best beers.
