Bourbon County Barleywine in DFW

    I figured someone would have posted this by now. Looks like Hall's got 4 cases or so. It looks like it'll be pretty plentiful at the usual stores. I would imagine Austin and Houston should see it soon as well. I thought we wouldn't see any this year.

    I'm not really chasing it too much as I traded for a fair amount.

    It's weird, I had a trade thread typed out for it and decided cancel. Checked Hall's facebook page hours later and it was there. :grimacing:

    I wonder what the heck took so long.

    Just was told that BEK released it to 2 stores when it was not supposed to and that it will be released everywhere June 17th during the goose island migration week.

    This is the darkest, most chocolaty barleywine I've ever had. Delicious...but damn it's almost like a Backyard Rye Light. I actually like this more than Backyard Rye.

    Ive opened 1 of my 4 thus far... extremely thick/syrupy and little to no carb (no head even with a normal to vigorous pour)...Anyone else having issue similar? HUGE fan of BCBS and assumed this would be a higher rating beer for me. I dont want to rank on this one quite yet, just reaching out to see if anyone has had something like this/if this was normal.

    I've never had ANY Bourbon County beer that had much head or carbonation. It's par for the course. It's a pretty sweet beer though. Maybe a little more than BCBS. I thought it was good

    I saw his FB post, apparently he left it on the floor and someone cleaned him out. It sucks, but you can't leave limited beers like that for the taking in DFW

    I think he was talking about someone taking all the bomb or wine noir and telling the cashiers at the front it was the single beer price of $1.99. I don't think there was an issue with the bcbbw as it was posted as a new arrival after he mentioned the bomb/bible belt/wine noir incident.

    I didn't know that's what happened. That's pretty crazy. Either way, they cleaned him out too.

    I've never gone anywhere that didn't scan each beer separately
