After reading this thread I've now become justifiably pissed that Russian River has the audacity to make great beers all the way across the country that I rarely get to try.

THEY SHOULD FLOW FROM MY WATER FOUNTAIN AT WORK!!!!

And even when I DO get to try some pliny, it's at least a week old!!!! COME ON! Why can't people on the east coast get 1 day old Pliny? HUH VINNY? HUH?

Dude - if you've only had week old Pliny - you haven't had Pliny.

I can only imagine what the complaining and bitching on here would be if we were discussing Pappy.

I'm honestly baffled by all of this. Haven't many of the people posting here had this beer before? I don't recall people talking about how great and desirable it was when it was readily available on shelves. Heck, I actively avoid such releases and ended up picking up a bottle at my local Earth Fare last year. Was a well-made beer, but nothing special IMO.

I disagree. I think it is special. Not joking at all. It is one of the few beers I will put effort into attaining b/c it is that good.

Did you obtain a lot last year? It was everywhere -- and readily available -- here in Columbia.

-Are we talking barrel aged pappy, or regular?

I did. I obtained a lot this year to. Agree on it's availability. I actually bought 4 from Cellar on Green in December.

JdoubleA makes a great point, mirroring one of my favorite Louis CK bits - Everything's Amazing and Nobody's Happy. We fly through the air, experiencing the miracle of flight - and complain about the food and lines we have to stand in. We can project our thoughts almost instantly across the globe, and we all complain about the few seconds lag involved in doing so. We should be amazed all the time - instead we complain. We're lucky enough to live in the golden age of beer - this is paradise - yet we bicker about not getting a bottle of one specific beer? We're spoiled rotten brats.

Recently found a Pappy connect in DC. Got 23 for $250 :sunglasses::grinning:

Also, this cute girl I just started talking to managed to score a case of Mexicake for us while visiting Mt. Pleasant the last couple of days.

    SCORE!

She will be rewarded for her valiant efforts tonight. I like to thank so anyways.. Giggity!

Hey I just thought I'd let everyone know how readily available it apparently is in the Mt. Pleasant area. This girl isn't some local in the know or a regular of any sort. She just popped into a couple shops and came out like a champ. More of an inspirational story than bragging

Isn't this whole thread a joke anyways?

I'm going to be passing through Charleston tomorrow and was wondering where I can get the Mexican Cake that I'm entitled to.

Seriously. What will we do when people learn just how delicious brats boiled in Mexican Cake can be?

Grabbed 4 bottles of cake in a undisclosed location in SC today. The store got 5 cases! All sold out now. I'm happy.

If they are sold out, why the enigmatic store description?
