I was in upstate NY last week and saw some of their beer in my favorite distributor. Picked up 2 bottles each of Zoe, Lunch, and Dinner. Is it just me, or is this some of the best beer there is, as far as representing the styles?? I mean, I was absolutely blown away. Especially with the double IPA. Zoe blows Nugget Nectar outta the ocean. Lunch easily is in the top three IPA's I've had. And Dinner is probably the tastiest, most drinkable DIPA I've ever had, although to be fair, I've never had Heady. Is anyone else here as impressed with these beers? I'm thinking of making a six hour round trip again just to pick up the rest of what they have left, and to try their other beers.

How did you get Dinner when it was brewery release only?

Yes, my mouth likes their brews quite a lot.

However, my wallet has a different opinion.

If you see Dinner grab as many bottles as you possibly can, I've never heard of any outside of their actual brewery.

Around here, they're one of the most highly regarded breweries. Lunch sells out immediately in all places around me that carry it, in most places it's even tough to get it unless you ask to be put on their bottle hold list for it. Brews like Zoe and Mo can be found easily at any time, but they're both delicious as well.

Yes, would agree their products are very good and I have enjoyed all the Maine beer products that make their way to MA. Have not seen Dinner.

I absolutely love Lunch. However I can only pick it up around here a couple of times a year. When my store gets some it is never more than a case or two.
Zoe is great. I buy it often if it is fresh. But go easy with the NN comparison.
I'm also a big fan of Peeper as well.

I agree, every one of their beers I've had are amazing. Never had the pleasure of trying Dinner, but I have had Lunch. Too bad the stores I go to have a one bottle limit on it when it's out. I got some in mid May bottled 4-29 and it was superb and only a couple weeks old.

I agree with just about everything you said. Question though, you can't get it NY?

i'm curious where in NY you live and how much you paid for it, i've only ever seen it for at least eight bucks a 12 oz bottle, which to me is just unjustifiable.

WOW. I may have lucked out here. This place has an entire shelf full of their beers and from the looks of things, they weren't selling. Yes, Lunch was amazing as well. I can't remember having a better IPA in the last year. And I'm an IPA guy. Do all of their beers come in 16.9 ounce bottles? I'll make the sacrifice and dish out the cash and gobble up what they have left. Their beers were that good. Caught me totally off guard.

It's a great brewery with delicious beer and nice people. After reading so much of you hating on the price-point, I was shocked to learn that bottles were selling for $6 on site, and as low as $5.50 offsite (I know, the price gets gouged to $8-$10 a btl on the shelf at some locations). I think that's totally reasonable for the quality of beer they are putting out, especially when some folks have no probably ponying up $7 for a PtE. I mean, sure, Lunch is no Pliny...but Another One shits all over both of em. Won't get any Dinner til next week, but I'm sure it's worth the $8/btl.

I live in NYC, but travel to upstate NY often. Lots of good beer distributors up there. To be honest, I can't remember what I paid for them.

I've had Lunch and Another One which were both great. Another one was just as good if not better than Lunch imo.

I was under the impression Dinner is not distributed as it is a brewery release only...

I'm a big fan of NN, but Zoe was more enjoyable. Just a tiny bit. However, cost wise, NN might be the better deal. Lunch and Dinner were amazing.
