Hint #7. I believe the other person in this BIF that is from the same state as my target liked my hint #5
    This should clear it up

If I get to post something even close to what kgncfl just posted, I might have a picture worth using as my avatar!

ha! as long as no one is getting mad that I'm completely ignoring the maximum... all beers I've enjoyed over the years but I admit I'm going quantity over quality (IMO the better choice for this theme). I'll figure out rAvg's etc in a bit.

I think I justified my extra by the fact that I ran out of packing materials and had to take up space. And I hit (or came close to) the max with quality, so the quantity was just a bonus.

Good on ya, I kept adding things that I know I like, but frankly Philly isn't blessed with any over-the-top awesome breweries (unless you count Tired Hands), we have a ton of very competent, even good, breweries, but not any that get across the board 90+s, most everything is solidly in the mid-upper 80s.

More beer **** incoming! Apparently, I boogered up a clue somewhere because a box of awesome was here from OH when I returned from the Philly Beer Week opener.

Yeah that basically describes my locals. I pretty much went with the top ranked one from a bunch of different breweries.

My dear beer, how you bring me cheer,
A huge box of you is here!

The box shining gold and bright,
Was sure to contain all kinds of pure delight.

What once was a beautiful porch now lays in rubble,
With the wife I was sure to be in trouble.

But while staring at the box I became awestruck,
And quickly realized that I didn’t really give a….buck.

Picked up the box and it was heavy as a rock,
It was almost as big as my ….umm…shock (ya, that's it..shock...shock and awe)

Into the box I quickly tore,
Anxious to see what deliciousness it bore.

I lined up the bottles and had to gawk of course,
With beers from Bells, New Holland, and Dark Horse.

I’ll make my way through the crowd
To drink them all, brewed Michigan proud.

I’ll taste & admire their brewing skill,
Sampling their beer – what a thrill.

So many new beers to taste & discover,
    Paradise for this beer lover.

    If expectations meet or exceed,
I’ll be sure to spread Michi-beer love, guaranteed.

The first part of this post you may feel was corny,
But the rest you will enjoy as it is about to become beer porny.

To @Tee2Grn, great box. Awesome bottles from my requested style and want list plus a good variety of other styles and breweries. I have not had any of these beers before so it is going to be a treat. Can’t wait to dig in. Thanks!

Cool idea, I went with a few each from a bunch of different breweries but even the top one from some is still an upper 80s beer. Are Sixpoint and Brooklyn and Ithaca not 'locals'? Sixpoint especially I would think would do great for this (unless it's in your target's distro, I had that problem a few times)

Philly gets that problem a lot. Victory, Weyerbacher, DFH, they all have big distros, cuz they are craft brewing OG's.

I don't want to ruin any surprises but I included one from each of those. Among others. Only Brooklyn is within 2 hours of me. I wanted to include the few breweries nearby who bottle too.

Sorry guys, but you get no poetry from me. I'm shell shocked. There is a crater in my foyer where this huge box of awesome smashed down through the floor... My sister in law who carried it in might be in traction at this point!

You will get pictures of the devastation. And a couple of questions, because I am crazy that way.

    First, the smalls:

16oz can Two Roads No Limits Hefeweizen(never heard of, always an awesome choice)
Thirsty Dog Wulver(want! Now I can cellar the bottle I just bought on my trip. Unless my target asks nice...)
Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger(Nice! GL is always quality.)
Jackie O's Paw Paw Wheat(Never had. Hear great things about JO's)
3 Floyds Pride & Joy X 2(FFF? FTW! Super excited to get my hands on some of their stuff.)
    Founder's Imperial Stout(permawant)

    Now the big guys:

MBC Lunch(Want! bottled 5/20? Are you kidding me?)
    Hoppin Frog Barrel Aged BORIS(permawant)
    Deschutes Hop Henge(want!)
    Deschutes Mirror Mirror(want!)
3 Floyds Blackheart(again, super excited to try 3 Floyds!)
Bitter Root IPA(another brewery I've never seen. sweet!)
MBC Dinner(HUGE Want! bottled 5/21? I almost passed out.)

And finally there is an unlabeled 32oz growler... It leaked just a little and smells distinctly of stout. But a heads up on what it is would be awesome!

    Group pic:

@kgncfl killed it. Just mind boggling!

So the horse head crest counts as an animal on the flag, eh? I totally didn't think so. But that made for a nice surprise!

That's exactly it, each of those does have incredible beers, but beyond them, Troegs, Yards, Philadelphia, Sly Fox, all good but none great. Then there's a plethora of brewpubs but it's harder/more expensive to get bottles from them.

Troegs has some home runs, but Nugget Nectar is out of season and scratch bottles are pretty much brewery only.

You can lump Lancaster, Stoudts, Manayunk, Round Guys, Evil Genius, Flying Fish and River Horse in with that group of good, but not great as well.

@devilfluff The growler is Mt Carmel Coffee Nut Brown the brewer himself brought the keg to a liquor store here in Columbus. I'm bummed it leaked, it is a brand new beer you are probably one of about a couple hundred to actually try it. I had some swag in there as well I hope you liked the bar name .

You didn't need that animal on the flag clue to ultimately figure it out, after the thirteen colonies, then the elimination of the letter O H I O you were left with 3 states, then sing the alphabet song, and only New Jersey was left.

I set it aside, and then totally lost track of it in my beer nerd-vana! I laughed. My wife gets the swag, cuz at 6'2" and a couple of doughnuts short of 3 bills, I'm just a few sizes over a large. LOL

For everyone else, it is a black T-shirt from Teabaggers of Boston. The back says "Come have a ball at Teabaggers"

One more time, from the heart, you killed it and I'm super stoked. Thanks so much.
