I have a friend on a trip to the SF Bay area (he is actually staying in Burlingame); he is trying to track down some Sante Adairius West Ashley, does anyone know if that beer is currently available in that area? If so, any recommendations for bottle shops that might carry it? thanks in advance!
unfortunately West Ashley, and all of their bottle releases, are brewery only releases, no distribution. In addition to that, since a new batch of Ashley just came out about a month ago it will be a while before a new one hits again.
I was just at SARA this weekend. Really great beers, really nice friendly people. I got a growler to go, but no bottles for sale at all.
OK I'll bite, because I am genuinely interested - how and what does releasing only at the brewery have to do with "high ratings"?
Did you forget about this thread Bill? (especially page 2): http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/sante-adairius-rustic-ales-sara.140178/ Catchy_Name just likes to talk shit about Sante and that is fine, more beer for us
They occasionally get kegs & very rarely bottles up to Trappist Provisions or Hog's Apothecary in Oakland or City Beer in SF.
Some places sometimes get very limited amount of bottles. I've gotten some at city beer store before a long time ago
Hmmm, I don't think you get how distribution works... They would have to expand their brewery to make more beer to distribute, since they already sell out of everything from their tap room, but they're not interested in expanding again right now. I know Tim and he's not interested in keeping high ratings on some beer websites, he's too busy making awesome beer. Like I said in the other thread, not everything in the beer world is as jaded as you think it is.
