I'm glad I'm not the only one here who does all these calculations...

:grimacing: I can't afford to re-pour my cement porch... I will be putting a sign out asking for all deliveries to be left in the grass.

To my target... I'm not going to be able to send out today... I need to send to you on a Monday or your box will sit in a sweaty Cali warehouse for a weekend after 5 days on trucks and planes, so I will be sending out on 6/9 hah... 6/9... anyway I went for a good mix of quantity and quality. You shall be bombed with either 260 or 272 ounces of delicious Midwest delight coming in with an average BA score over 92.

Edit - it will be 260 oz because I believe you said you do not like Barleywines so I'm not going to send you my last CW BBBW.

I'm still going to have to dig the box out of and then repair the crater. On second thought, depending on where he drops it it could cause significant structural damage to my home's foundation... maybe I will build some kind of porch reinforcement over the next couple of days.

oh god yeah, I then had to figure out the best way to present my calculations so it wasn't hard to understand what i was trying to say... I also did a volume-weighted version (the large format stuff is on the higher end and thus increases the average) and I considered using that one but I figured explaining what I was talking about made it not worth it.

In case you're curious, instead of 3.88 it'd be 3.91 rAvg with the volume-weighting, and instead of a 4.04 "best of the box" it'd be 4.07 with volume weighting.

Now you're talking. I thought I was going to have to get in touch with your fedex driver (and in addition to an apology) bribe him to put it on the porch anyway.

What a tease! 272 sounds so much better than 260 though, plus I could always acquire a taste of an excellent barley wine every so often, especially one aged in bourbon barrels.

I'm laughing because I did exactly the same thing with volume weighting, only mine ended up being within .01 of each other so it wasn't worth mentioning (or explaining). I was similar to you with the bigger bottles being high end stuff, but then my localest (most local?) brewery was a little lower ranked and I included a couple of their bombers.

I agree, that said I can't blame him for keeping his last one, I got one in a trade previously that I'm very hesitant to open

In my case they're a little further apart, but since there's only a couple large format in the first place, it isn't making a huge difference.

Over 250 oz of Mid-West love has been packed up and headed to beautiful San Diego. 3 Wants were knocked off in a box that contains brews from 3 States(Only 36oz were pulled from a state outside of Ohio). I stretched the "local" term a bit for the wants but all the breweries I pulled from I have driven to from my house. There is plenty of Cincinnati and Ohio love to go around. Cheers!

224 oz with an average of 90.4 headed out to the east cost set to arrive Wednesday. I really hope you enjoy the local Chicago brew (and 1 beer from outside IL but still in the Midwest). You didn't have many wants ticked, but I hooked you up with styles I know you'll enjoy.

So I had two boxes packed and ready to go this morning, but I thought about what was inside and realized that I'd gone depth-first over breadth-first, which is not very fitting with the theme of this BIF. So I added a third (small) box that should showcase the elusive darker NorCal beers. Here are the numbers:

Avg BA Rating: 91% -- Weighted Avg: 91%
    Diff. Styles: 7+
    Breweries Represented: 12
    Wants satisfied: 2 (both non-local)
    Total Weight: 47.6 lbs
Ounces: 357 (This is what happens when two people are picking the beers and can't agree on what to get)

I think my target knows who he is, but here are some last clues just
for fun and to bring it home:

    # I sent to this state in my last BIF
    # My target is the only person in this BIF from his state
    # My target has shipped, but his target has not yet received
