    Awesome! Now I can get my 80's and 90's video game fix with a side of delicious beer in two boroughs. Sure hope they follow in BK's footsteps and have Smash TV.

    Holy shit! Smash TV was my favorite arcade game ever. Double Dragon and Gauntlet neck-and-neck behind it. USA v. USSR bubble hockey was a favorite too.

    Double Dragon (1 and 2) were definitely some of my favorite games. Punchout was up there too, which Barcade also has.

    Now only if they can get Frank Thomas' Big Hurt Baseball...

    I don't know...Barcade is a great concept and all but that taplist is truly lacking IMO

    I like Barcade because they do tap take overs all the time. They host so many good beer events. I think that current tap list is something that would appeal to a broad audience since they just opened. Also keep in mind they do American beers only.

    no, that's cool, I'm not a big Euro guy anyway (outside of Belgian sours/saisons, really). the fact that this is less than 10 blocks from my office doesn't hurt, I'll just wait until they have a better taplist - would love to see Peekskill, Barrier, Kane, Carton, etc., sticking with the local theme for a bit

    Normally, Barcade tends to have a rotation of the same breweries on tap, especially the locals: Sixpoint, Bronx, Chelsea, Brooklyn. Some of them I really like (Allagash, Shmaltz/He Brew) and some I don't care for (Abita, Climax).

    I don't know what it is about Barcade, but there's just something missing for me. Fun once in a while, but just....

    Most of their games ARE Amercian:

    "Anteater" by Iago
    "Asteroids Deluxe" by Atari
    "Crossbow" by Exidy
    "Cyberball 2072" by Atari
    "Discs of Tron" by Bally Midway
    "Dragon's Lair" by Advanced Microcomputer Systems
    "Empire Strikes Back" by Atari
    "Escape From the Planet of Robot Monsters" by Atari
    "Fire Truck" by Atari
    "Food Fight" by Atari
    "Galaga" by Bally Midway

    "Galaxian" by Bally Midway
    "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" by Atari
    "Joust" by Williams
    "Lunar Lander" by Atari
    "Mad Dog 2" by American Laser Games (I was hoping they would have one of the Mad Dog games!!)
    "Mappy" by Bally Midway
    "Millipede" by Atari
    "Narc" by Williams
    "NBA Jam" by Midway
    "Night Stalker" by Bally
    "Pitfall 2" by Activision
    "Q-Bert" by Gottlieb
    "Rampage" by Bally Midway
    "Return of the Jedi" by Atari
    "Slither" by GDI
    "Smash TV" by Williams
    "Star Wars" by Atari
    "Tapper" by Bally Midway
    "World Series: The Season" by Cinematronics
    "Xybots" by Atari

    Here is the entire list: http://barcadenewyork.com/games/

    Note: "Bubble Bobble" is listed as being made by Romstar, but in reality they just distributed for Taito. "Pooyan" is listed as Stern, but they just licensed it from Konami. "Tetris" was made by Alexey Pajitnov, but Atari made the coin op version.

    I agree with what you are saying. Judging by the many times I've visited the Williamsburg Barcade, they will wind up having Barrier on tap. Almost every time I have been there Barrier has been on tap. Would definitely love to see Kane since I have yet to try anything from them.

    Had Carton Boat Beer at Press 195 in RVC tonight. Normally I shit on session ales but wow that beer was great!

    How is that dumb? As far as I can tell, most of those companies are indeed American.

    Tago Electronics = North America (all I can find about this company)
    Activision = California
    Atari = California
    Midway = Illinois
    ..and so on

    Looking to take both those comments back now?

    I not arguing that they arent American, chief. I'm just saying it's dumb to limit yourself to american only beer and games.
