What beer are you drinking now? #592

    Good morning fellow BA’s!
    It’s been a long night for me as the kiddo came on with a fever and has been pretty fuzzy. Gave him some Tylenol and he’s finally sound asleep but me, not so much. Pulled this one out of the cellar (first time having it) and been sipping on it for a while – I have to say it meets the hype. Super sweet – nose is chocolate, vanilla, ground coffee and some licorice. Taste is sweet, very sweet – molasses, brown sugar, roasted malt, chocolate, hazelnut and some spices (cinnamon & ancho chile?). I have to say it’s quite enjoyable – especially as it warms up. Its mouthfeel is as good as it gets for a RIS. Worth the hunt, worth the trade.

    Well jut spent the night in the ER with the wife, 6 hrs worth. It's 530 or so had a HDR having a 3 finger Bourbon and a Valium and going to bed. See you at noon or so.

    so far, so good! i've heard a lot of chatter that these are oxidizing & degrading pretty noticeably. this one, the carbonation isn't nearly what it was the first time i opened one years back, but the rest seems to be in perfect working order. YMMV

    Have a couple days off before I start the new job. I went in looking for trail head...I came out with this. I should be set for today at least. The enjoy by was bottled on 5/29 and the fat heads trail head was canned on 5/28. Talk about freshness!!

    Another crummy day in Maine, although I did manage to get 18 holes of golf in between the showers.
    Drinking this and wishing for warmer, sunnier weather.
