I'm confused. Looked to me like your original post was saying it didn't make sense that the beers were American, but the games 'Japanese'. Someone pointed out that the games are actually mostly American.

Now you're saying you knew that, but your point was that it's dumb to limit yourself to only American beers/games? Really?

Look up. See that X-Men game. Yeah thats Capcom. A Japanese company. Pardon me for not doing research on the whole list just to make a point that should already be obvious to everyone. I'm sure Barcade has their reasoning, I just don't know what it is. I'm sure most people don't.

Did anyone stop in for the opening? Looks like the tap lineup changed slightly from the one posted above but still decent. Can't complain being less than 10 blocks from my office.

What do you expect, Japanese beer and American arcade games?

Unfortunately I don't think Kane has ever hit NY yet and last I heard, they don't have immediate plans to. I'd also love it if there was a bar that routinely had Kane and Carton on tap.

Either they want to, one or more of the owners has a thing about non-American beers or there's so much great American beer around, they feel as though they don't need any others.

They probably serve all American beers because they want to support our businesses. What is wrong with that? Not to mention we make damn fine beers.

They seem to especially put local NY beers on tap quite frequently.

Yea I had a feeling Kane has never been in the area. I hope that Carton offering I came across wasnt a rarity for LI and we see it often!

You do know that the owners of Barcade made the movie American Beer, right?

But honestly I think the theme of Barcade is a place to have craft beer and play some classic games. They're draft only so that probably limits the number of foreign beers they can get in. Not every craft beer bar has to have beers you need to stand in line for.

Carton is slowly moving to NY. I know that a few kegs have shown up in Albany so its only a matter of time before you see more offerings in they city.

You can find Carton Boat beer on draft all over NYC, not so much their other stuff.

When I go over to NJ, I see the 0077xx everywhere.
