I know this is always a loaded question, but I'll be in Boulder for around two months and would love some advice on not to miss beers and breweries. I'm a huge fan of IPAs, APAs, DIPAs, and other hop forward styles if that helps at all. Thanks in advance

If you bring beer from Vermont, I'll tell you EVERYTHING!

    I second the Vermont motion.

Go to Fate for starters. In all seriousness, you will not have a tough time finding remarkable beers in this town.

You won't find IPAs that match what you find in Vermont, but our mountains kick Vermont's mountains in the ass. Explore!

100x yes! The Fate Coffee IPA, made with Ozo Ethiopian coffee was amazing. They show 10oz on their menu but I've always had it served in a 16oz @ the same $$.

As I've said in the other bazillion threads asking the same question, if you go to Boulder and don't hit up Avery you're doing it wrong.

Glad I wasn't the only one who loved this beer. Try their Gose and Roggenbier as well. People are saying, and I'm mostly in agreement, that the Veorandi barrel aged bottles they have are overpriced for what they are. But, I was just in recently and had a tequila aged tripel on draft that was just fantastic. They have like 4 different bottles of barrel aged beers on their menu now. If you feel like gambling on a $20 bottle it could pay dividends.

Also if you can swing by Lafayette, go to Odd 13 and get an Eric The Red, Papa Silenus, and/or Professor Hops.

In Boulder, the best breweries for just beer: Avery (obviously), Upslope, Wild Woods, Sanitas (Fate and Twisted Pine are good for food).

If you make it out of Boulder to the surrounding areas the highlights are Gravity in Louisville, Odd13 in Lafayette, and Left Hand/Oskar Blues in Longmont.

Only great beer bar in Boulder: Backcountry Pizza

Skully 10 too. Haven't had it but heard it was great from a friend who I agreed with on the quality of Skully 9 (loved that beer). Wouldn't waste money on any other Paradox beers though, at least be warned if you do, they put out mostly garbage (as of late).

As an example...as of yesterday, Backcountry had on tap: Bligh's Bwine (carbed!), Sump, 17, FRESH Enjoy By, Pliny, Boris the Crusher, Choco Oak Aged Yeti, and on and on...great, great spot!

I am guilty of never going to Backcountry despite visiting Boulder regularly. That tap list alone makes me really want to make the trip up!

For OP, Boulder Beer Co. is the oldest craft brewer in CO and they always have some great one-off or limited stuff on tap plus outstanding food and a nice tour.

They do it right there!! Maybe the best craft beer bar in the state, and that's saying a lot!
If I lived there I would be a regular no doubt, but only visit Boulder a handful of time every year and more of a brewery guy.
