I felt the need to since users might read that Head Hunter was in Philly and then post threads saying "where can I find Head Hunter in eastern PA".

To clarify. Pliny bottles are not available in the Philly market and Fat Heads does not distribute regularly to SEPA.

I believe Fat Heads is available in FL though...

I texted a buddy in VA asking about fatheads, he suggest I join BA and post it. I am not trying to BS anyone or raise hopes. Just looking for hard to get beer in NJ, because it seems we are either a week behind with distrib or we never get it at all.

I don't understand. You asked your friend about Fat Head's. He says ask on here. You post a thread with a completely unfounded rumor about them coming to NJ? This makes absolutely zero sense to me. Am I missing something?

Ok. Wait. Monkey is coming to stores??? Where have you heard this? Also, I think you're overstating the importance of an NJ brewed beer to consumers in the state. While I think it would definitely sell, I think after the initial excitement for it being available wears off, it could have problems. Lots of competition on the shelves. But I think that's why Boat does pretty well. It's not available all the time - which helps keep the excitement for when it's around.

There was a label pic for monkey chased but not confirmation from Carton it's happening, word I heard was the label got approved but they aren't going to can and 007xx is next.

A brewery called spellbound in Mt Holly is opening soonish and they'll be canning and Forgotten Boardwalk says they will can as well in due time. So some more cans are coming.

I'm a bit disappointed Kane hasn't sent any bottles to the shops that have gotten bottles in the past. With ANTEAD all being sold at their release I guess it'll be a bit till the next possible distro'd bottle.

Flying fish is by no means bad but for how long they have been at it they don't seem to have a finger on the pulse. Also, didn't Casey leave to do his own thing or something? They have had their new spot in Sommerdal for a bit now yet I've had no desire to go as they haven't seemed to have any event worth going to. Saw they are doing 12oz of FU Sandy, or the pics looked like 12oz. That's kind of cool, albeit played out a bit. It was a decent beer but not great. I do enjoy fresh Exit 16, Exit 4, and the Exit 1. No desire to get any of those on the regular though. I do buy Boat on the reg though.

Really enjoyed the Overhead w/mosaic on tap, Kane needs to work on putting that in 6 or 4 packs or something along with their other offerings.

Cape May and Tuckahoe do some good things but Kegs are a bit more sporadic to get. Irish mile in Westmont gets a good amount but no growlers is a minus.

Haven't had anything from Pinelands but they seem intriguing.

No clue what happened with Bolero Snot, those guys still out there?

rinn Dunn or whatever is newish but nothing they have really appeals to me. I'm sure there are some other newcomers coming in the market. But whomever posted that the market is there, it's very true and it's becoming a race to see who can be first to really spank the competition. I kind of thought Kane would be it and be further along, seems they had a stumble or two, aren't they on their third head brewer in 3 years? Morning Bell was stellar this year compared to last year though. Haven't had ANTEAD but all reports are this years blows last years out of the water let alone the variants. Haven't bad anything from Carton I didn't like either. Even the funky as fuck Rickey, talk about cheese!

Good time to be a craft fan in NJ and the USofA enjoy people!

As someone in western PA ... Fatheads is one of the only products that we can hold high over eastern PA. I hope their footprint never goes east to NJ, NY, Va, or eastern PA.

Love the fact Irish Mile gets alot of Kane/Carton. Hate the fact they don't clean their tap lines. One Yuengling bottle, please!

i've never had a problem, not refuting your statement of course, but i've had quite a few kane/carton/cape may/tuckahoe offerings in the past few months and have had no quality issues, have you had a bad experience/know that they don't clean their lines?

Honestly, I have only had two beers from there at tasted off to me. Quite a few people I've spoken to recently had said the same though (for whatever that's worth). Eh maybe it was on off night? I've been served boat and other pale ales in a small tulip and charged for the pint before too. Stuff like that annoys me about the place but thats just me.

Partially true. I've seen cases of Head Hunter at Frank's in Pottstown and Kunda in KoP. Not regularly mind you, but I doubt they are driving out to Western PA, bringing them back and then advertising on Facebook that they have them for sale by the case.

I got a case at Kunda once, and from what I understand Kunda knows one of the Fat Heads owner and they send some cases here purely as a favor every now and then, but it is very rare when that happens. That's what I was told once, but I could be wrong.

Their double rice IPA was good when fresh, but their mainly available stuff - hopfish, red fish, extra pale ale - are all very lackluster imho. They're not making anything at the moment people would bother trading for.

Glad to hear Carton may be canning the 077XX instead. Fantastic brew that i will buy regularly if so. Now that's a beer people would pursue.

I wonder if that's the same case as Frank's. Either way it's not out here enough!

I don't have any information one way or another (about FH coming to NJ), but given the lack of info on the FH site, and the timing, it would surprise me if they were planning a move out to NJ.

    http://fatheadsportland.com/

The Portland announcement was made back in 5/13, and the original expectation was that the new brewery would open sometime in early Sprng 2014. It's now June and it still hasn't opened. Latest news was that the opening will now take place in late Summer. Could be, but there has been no recent information about the Portland Fat Head's, and I'm starting to wonder if the late Summer opening has been pushed back as well (in fact, the latest news is that they're now expecting a Fall opening). Given the problems FH seems to be having with the opening of the Portland brewery, I would be very surprised if they had any current plans to open another brewery some place else (at least not right now). Doesn't mean it couldn't happen, or isn't in the current planning stage, but the timing just seems a bit odd for that. Just my two cents...

Head Hunter was on draft yesterday at Noddingheads in Philly. It was just for one day due to Philly Beer Week but I would have to think they were "testing the waters" in this area. Great beer by the way.

Not sure why they would test the waters here, they make great beer and they are already registered in PA. Their stuff would sell like hot cakes here. I always thought it was more of a supply issue and that they can't make enough beer to send to our market.

And yes, Head Hunter is a totally awesome beer.

I think if they were testing the waters, they would have sent more than just a few kegs of their most sought after beer. They would've had a takeover at a place or two and judged some crowds.
