I can't give any recommendations for stuff actually on Siesta Key, however there is a Total Wine just west of I-75 off University, it might be a good place to stop and grab a some bottles on your drive in... Probably not a place you'd want to back-track to once you make it to Siesta Key

On the mainland Sarasota Brewing Company(brewpub) and Mr. Beery(beer bar) are well worth visiting and are within walking distance of each other. Not very far from Siesta Key either, only a couple of miles.

I don't think there's much of a craft beer presence on Siesta.

+1 to Total Wine, which is the store to visit in Sarasota if you can only visit one. Also check out the Brewing Co. and especially Mr. Beery's.

Shakespeare's on Osprey near Siesta Drive is a great British Pub with a big craft beer selection, though it's on the mainland.

Just ate at Blu Que last night, and they had a pretty decent selection of craft beer, including amazing coconut brown ale from Kona. I'm on the hunt myself right now, so i'll report back with what I come up with.

I'll be right behind you...heading to Siesta Key the first week in June!

My understanding is that THE place to go for beer in Sarasota/Siesta Key is the **** and Bull Pub on Cattlemen Road. The place has a 97 rating right here on Beer Advocate. It is on my must visit list when I get down there next month...can't wait!

Mr Beery's & **** & Bull have good taps. Beery's is closer, C&B has some (pricy) bottles you won't find elsewhere. Otherwise for bottles, Whole Foods downtown Sarasota and the aforementioned Total Wine.

Good deal, glad you found it.

If you happen to have spare time and are passing through Tampa, definitely stop in at CCB tasting room and get you some of the 110K+OT Batch #5, I picked up 4 bottles yesterday and it is excellent! It's tasting room only.

This is great info here, I'll be in Siesta the last week of June.
