Since there are so many "this beer is different than last year" posts [the most recent being PtE], how about all you BAs chiming in about some of the beers that are the same.
Mine - CCB Jai Alai. Hadn't had it for some time, picked up some 10 days out from canning and it was, as far as I'm concerned, the same as always.

I'll go one better - I'll talk about a beer that's improved this year.

'13 Parabola was way too alcoholic and abrasive, but this year's version was absolutely excellent. I never once felt like my palate was being needlessly pummeled by booze just for the sake of complexity; it the perfect balance of depth, richness, and concealed alcohol. Sure, it got a bit sweet at times, but who cares?! I'm now on the Parabola bandwagon.

99% of beers always taste the same to me, with the exception of beers that vary in barrels used, etc. from year to year. How can someone specifically remember what a beer tasted like a year ago anyway?

I think most breweries strive for that sort of consistency. Jai Alai changes slightly week by week if you drink it enough. it's never bad though.

Celebration is different every year due to the fact that they change the spices slightly each time.

Drank a PBR on Friday, which I hadn't done for several months. Definitely the same as last year's.

Damn. This is good. I should have titled it "the same or better than last year."

I don't think so either. But many people claim they can. Claim being the operative word here.

We know that Bud drifts over time, the question is do they do it incrementally or in big jumps? Its quite possible that last years and this years differ by .03 IBUs or something.

I maintain that if you drink a beer regularly, and I mean more than once a year then you can indeed remember what it tasted like and notice the differences between batches. Just my opinion.

I just had a beer on draught that tasted better from the last time I had it on draught... two weeks back, same bar, same keg. Did the beer change considerably in the keg in those two weeks? Doubtful. Did the circumstances change? Yes.

Almost any serious brewery should be able to say this about most of their offerings. I know hop availabilities affect some things, but any mid-size brewery should achieve this more often than not.
