    why do people always take a thread like "hey i only want to walk im staying downtown" and tell someone to drive to alpine??

    stone tap room is right by the ball park and will have some good bottles available there, not far from best damn beer shop!

    Thanks man, I'll definitely check these out. Planning on going to the Father's game Wednesday night & then hopefully a buddy will bring me to Societe, Ale Smith, Ballast Point & Green Flash on Thursday night.

    Probably because the OP didn't say explicitly he only wanted to walk. He indicated a preference. Plus, people get excited about Alpine because it's amazing, and if you are visiting San Diego, it's worth the drive, if one can find the time and if it's in one's budget. I don't understand what's so frustrating about people bringing it up...

    For the record, I'll be back in SD in early August, arriving via I8 from the east, so Alpine and all its goodness will be summarily pillaged then:slight_smile:
