NBO: World Cup BIF

It gives us something to chat about on the (sadly) rare occasions that we get together to crack open some bottles!

 

Where in PA is @tommyguz located?

 

I have been holding strong! My pitching has been healthy all year and surprisingly dominant. Some chances I've taken didn't work out (Kolten Wong (well he is on a comeback), That Angels OF Rookie, Tim Lincecum) but some have!

As @Shandycan knows, I will crap out in the playoffs, that is for certain. So don't you worry. I am still bitter about my loss last week, I was hoping to go for a clean slate!

I know we are real competitive in our fantasy sports vs. each other. I think we are in 3 baseball leagues together (His hometown friends league, my hometown friends league and the BA league @Syracuse12 is in with us, and at least what will be 2 football leagues (The one him and I basically started in 07 and then I am supposed to be invited into his hometown friends league)....so if I finish Higher than @Shandycan I call that a W in my book! We really never get together as much as we should (which might be good for our livers). I am all the way in the Western Part of the state in Meadville, while I think @Shandycan is close to Norristown (as pictured above from @Syracuse12 's police blotter)

Yup, sadly I work not far from Norristown @Syracuse12 but at least I live over an hour away from there!
And unfortunately as @tommyguz mentioned we are basically bookends of the state of PA, so it's tough to get our schedules to cooperate for hanging out... but when we do, we definitely have some great bottle shares!

 

Count me in. Is there a rule that you have to advance the USA to the elimination round in this BIF?

 

I work in Plymouth Meeting ... we should grab a beer sometime!

 

Get some!! Although, now my chances of winning just went down, you seem to be on top of your game as of late with sports!

 

I only do well in the ones that are all by chance, like getting a team assigned. Picking winners I have sucked at, but always willing to share some beer. Maybe we can get some good mini-BIFs going? I have a shot there...

I'm in for a bottle share. Maybe somewhere in the middle of the state and then I can drive up too. so many of us have been in a lot of the same groups on this site, would be great to get together in person some day. Maybe World Cup Final?

 

Man, I was just suggesting a beer for happy hour with the guy that works 10 minutes from me, not a big event! lol ... that said, I agree that would be pretty cool, there's been some good overlap between the BW, NFL Draft, NBA Finals, and this BIF.

I'm already running a mini-BIF for the NBA Finals BIF (and finishing out the NFL Draft mini), so I'm sad to say I'm out for running one in this thread as well... but if anyone else wants to put something together I'm sure I'll play.

 

Haha... agreed @Dave_Treat a bottle share would be fun but definitely require more logistics! @Lehighace06 a beer at some point sounds like a plan, we can take that discussion off-thread though.

yeap, sounds cool. Wasn't trying to jump @Lehighace06's thread... (should we play some cards too during our bottle share, if I get the user name right). I'd be up for a drive and a bottle share at some point, great BA friends would be fun to meet (shit, maybe we won't really like each other, who knows). Logistics, my mind works too fast, maybe late in the summer gives us time to set it up? @PA-Michigander can help set us up with a location (bar) near the middle of the state?

All good, if nothing else, I plan to raise one for everyone tonight. Think I'm cracking my DL finally!
