It was a malt bomb but so awesome anyway. Now onto a Siren/Cigar City Caribbean Chocolate Cake. It's luscious and everything you'd expect.

    Both are brewed by Marston's
The Tesco Revisionist range needs to be revised out of history
most of it is an absolute disgrace (the saison is probably one of the world's worst beers)
However Marston's also brew the Tesco Simply range, which in all fairness are fair to middling
and the M signature seem to be more that (Golden, Dark, IPA)
than the farting higher than it's arse revisionist range trying and utterly failing to produce a 'craft beer' range.

Not sure about that - a couple of the Morrisons brews are but they have others brewed by Titanic and Black Sheep. I've only had one or two of the range and they weren't anything to write home about....

In other news, I'm currently drinking Mikkeller's Hop Burn Low. It's like scouring my tastebuds off with hop juice :grinning:

    Amber Ale - Black Sheep
    Red Ale - Titanic

Only their IPA brewed by Marstons

    Anywhoo
    Never min the Cheerin'
    get the F*ckin' beer in

Point IPA had it once from a Science Fiction theme bar
    served ice cold
never choose to drink beer like that myself
A lot of toffee, pine and bitterness were killed by that coldness

Much better than I remember now served more civilised.

I don't think the different breweries make much difference

Supermarket branded brews are rarely inspired, even if they have come on a bit.

Right, finishing up with Guinness FES.

Supermarket beers don't have to be poor
Tesco have the Trad Porter & American Double IPA (okay they are basically pseudonyms)
but also M&S have some cracking bottles
the Southwold Summer ale isn't popular here but I swear by it
but their Black IPA is one of the best supermarket beers
and I work part time & paying £4+ for a bottle of beer isn't always smiled upon by the missus lol

They aren't poor, just that the target market is the general public rather than the typical BA poster.

FFS! I know he hadn't really recovered from the quad bike crash all those years ago. I'm off in search of something with which to toast his passing.

'I feel sorry for you, you zeros, you nobodies. What's going to live on after you die? Nothing, that's what!

This house will become a shrine! And punks and skins and Rastas will all gather round and all hold their hands in sorrow for their fallen leader! And all the grown-ups will say, 'But why are the kids crying?' And the kids will say, 'Haven't you heard? Rick is dead! The People's Poet is dead!'

And then one particularly sensitive and articulate teenager will say, 'Why kids, do you understand nothing? How can Rick be dead when we still have his poems?'.

    Shipyard Blue Fin Stout
starts with quite a big coffee taste that falls flat with no real depth feeling quite thin
    and pretty much continues so.

Thought that was better than their IPA. Not saying much though

It is better than their IPA
    making it drinkable
and that Shipyard puke taste is there but only slightly
