His post specifically warned against trading. The second message in the posted thread said he no longer wants to trade. He posted the thread after Steve said he'd do the deal begrudgingly, so there's be no need to manipulate the trade into happening.

So, you no read so good?

Strongly disagree. There was nothing left to hash out. Even if steve423423 ultimately agreed to follow through with the original deal, he very clearly took a stab at setting new terms. Some might call that good old-fashioned Randian economics. I call it bad trading, and I'd like to know if I'm going to be put through the ringer before the other party honors his/her end of the bargain.

We can go back and forth about what constitutes a bad trader but for me personally the list of people I'm not interested in trading with doesn't start and end with just people who stole beer so I appreciate hearing about stuff like this.

I agree, bad traders are not defined only by people who steal beer. People renegging or trying to change terms of a trade are bad traders in my book. Once a deal is made if you back out for a better trade you are a bad trader.

Ok well this seems to be coming to end so I'd just like to say one more thing. I would like formally apologize. You guys are right, I shouldn't have tried to re-negotiate the original trade. No one was screwed over. I would never screw over anyone, let alone if bottles were actually even sent out. I feel this got a little outta control but that's everyone's perogative and I understand trying to protect future traders. And again yes I shouldn't have tried to stray away from the original deal; if people don't want to trade with me, that's their right, but in all sincerity I'm sorry to whoever got offended and to the original person this involved especially.

Way to own up. This apology goes a long way in my book honestly. Good luck getting your prop. I think everyone (including myself) can learn from this. Cheers.

Well, I'm glad that you see the errors of your ways.. it's a major plus. We all make mistakes and it's how we respond to them that really define who we are.

For me, the first rule of trading is the Golden Rule. Treat your trading partner the way you want to be treated. In my opinion, that means be clear, be generous, be helpful, be responsive. If you don't want people changing the terms of a verbal agreement, then don't do that yourself. As far as I'm concerned, your word and your reputation is all you have in this community. Do what it takes to protect it because once you lose that trust others have in you, it's really, really hard to get that back.

Alls well that ends well. Appreciate it and agree this thing has run it's course. I wish we could have made the trade as accepted but it wasn't in the cards. I'm sure you'll end up with a Prop and believe you'll love it, it's drinking fantastically.
