I really like it. Lots of hop flavor with a nice bitter finish. Hop ranch is pure grapefruit juice

Pretty much DW, flower power, and sculpin are my staple IPAs/DIPAs. Im also lucky enough to have Kane Head High here, which is amazing. I love the harder to get stuff, but these are always around and are really good fresh. I'd add Chillwave, Enjoy By, and Sucks to the list if they were out all year.

Things I wish were easier to obtain:
Heady, Pliny, Fresh Squeezed, Abner, Jai Alai, Zombie Dust, Nelson, Citra, Hop JuJu or Head Hunter, Julius, Two Hearted (not in NJ). Prob a bunch of others too.

Don't you know that the most important factor when deciding whether or not to purchase a beer is the breweries zip code? Followed closely by how cool the label looks.

yeah, but that's apples and oranges. Dirt Wolf is a dipa, sculpin is just a normal, classic IPA. Compare those sixer prices to laggy ipa at $8, and FW Union Jack at $9. To me, Sculpin is not worth 60% more money.

I think Modus Hoperandi is truly great IPA and a bargain. I know it's classified as an IPA not a DIPA, but I can get a 6 for under 10 bucks, sometimes under 9. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy DirtWolf. I just find the Modus a little better bang for the buck.

Again, there's no argument. Everyone's got their own favorites. I'd rather the citrus of sculpin over the maltiness of Lagunitas IPA or Union Jack if given the choice. They are both excellent IPAs, I just like the juiciness of fresh sculpin a little better. No ones wrong here, Tomaytoe Tamaatoe. I also don't see the huge difference between one company's IPA to another's DIPA. While there is sometimes a difference in ABV and hoppiness, I've found many companies use these names as marketing schemes.

I prefer Lunch, Torpedo, and Flower Power over DW. Hi Res trumped it as well. DW was good, but I wouldn't place it in my top five.

You must like your malts, torpedo and hi res are both hoppy, but malt bombs 'compared' to DW. I like them both too, but both malty. For me, Flower Power, although a IPA, compares better to DW as far as taste is concerned.

Does everyone who loves Dirtwolf like Sucks also? I find these two very similar, with Dirtwolf slightly better.

Both to me are examples of the massive citrus forward IPA's that are all the rage today. They used to seem new, but now they almost seem all too common.

Just now trying this for the first time. It's great, super refreshing with nice tropical flavors. Thing is, if I consider it an IPA it's top notch, but when compared to other DIPA's it falls a little flat. Maybe it's just because I've been drinking a lot of thicker beers lately but I expected DW to be a bit heavier all the way around. Not to say that I won't be picking it up again, it's perfect at the end of a long, hot day which today was even though it's currently pouring rain ( Yay Florida). Oh, and yes I like Sucks as well, DW is almost like Sucks Light .

I had mentioned it before and was sad to see up until this point no one noticed .This beer is the bomb for many reasons .It is up there with the best of the dipa's-the price is insane for the quality (right there with weihenstephaner beers)and yes I have become addicted to this even more so because yes you can get it anywear. In Jersey a steal at $7.99.I believe that this beer has replaced Vitus as the best and most available and yes best bang and taste for the buck there is.

No!!! I'm right and you're wrong! This is a moral issue! Lol.

Nah, I hear ya. That's an interesting take that I've not heard before (the differences or lack thereof of IPAs/dipas). I'm a homebrewer also, so I've tended to pay more credence to style guidelines than is probably necessary.

Long live all forms of IPA! Yeah!

I've taken a bit of a break from ticking lately and I've been buying A LOT of DirtWolf. I live maybe an hour away from the brewery so when I grab any given 4-pack of DW, it's NEVER more than 3 weeks old (though, I think I did find a month old pack ONCE). When you factor in the fact that it's ALWAYS on the shelf or in the coolers here, always fresh, never more than $10/4, and tastes as good as it does... I agree wholeheartedly that DW is one of the best DIPA choices around.

DW and Troegs Perpetual have become my weekly purchases.

Honestly, 8.49/4 pack around here is really hard to beat. Great beer, who cares if it isn't the best.

It Isnt the best DIPA known to man but it may be the best valued DIPA known to man. It is a superb DIPA at 9-10.99 a four pack. Do you know of beers of comparable quality for that price ?

DW is one of my favorite beers and I can get it for $36 a case, and even for it for $32 one time during a "Victory Sale" at my local distributor. I bought a case of Hop Ranch when it came out and I did not love it (onion garlic). I let it mellow for about 2-3 months, and it turned into a great beer.

Mark me as a convert, this is fantastic stuff.
