A session coffee milk stout sold in six packs?!?!?! Sign me up!!

There’s no shortage of talented people at Stone and each makes their presence known in their own unique way. Brian Gallagher, a brewer who learned the art of fermentation in the UK, used the beer you now hold, a New World take on a traditional Enlgish milk stout, as his vehicle for personal expression. Originally brewed as a limited-edition offering at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station, this coffee-laced milk stout quickly became a favorite among Gallagher’s peers. Made bittwersweet and creamy while remaining smooth and easy-drinking thanks to the addition of milk surgar, it’s clear why this is a brew we needed to share with fans everywhere.

Anything new from Stone that doesn't exclusively come in bombers is alright with me...

Definitely pumped to try this one. Hoppy beers and stouts are what Stone does best.

This sounds awesome. Session stouts, the next big thing?

Low ABV anything is the next big thing. This is craft beer's version of the Light beer craze. I can't say I'm mad at making smaller beers, but some of the session IPAs are really lacking in flavor and thus creeping into Light beer territory in terms of flavor.

God, please let this be the harbinger of a (non-BA) stout renaissance.

Interesting. Can anyone who's tried the original version of this comment on the hoppiness? I realize this is a milk stout, but this is Stone we're talking about...

Regardless, I hope this beer gets full distribution.

Wait a minute...not all stouts have to be 9% ABV or greater? When did this happen?

I'm sure it'll be around $12. Just like their session IPA. Don't really understand that price tag. Kind of defeats the purpose of it being a session beer.

Where have you been? That's the real question. All Milk Stouts are low ABV and even regular (non-Imperial) stouts have relatively low ABV.

The press release does say it's an "English milk stout" and that the brewer, Brian Gallagher, learned to brew in the UK. Therefore, I would assume this won't be hoppy at all, although it is Stone I guess. I would hope it's pretty traditional.
