Technically this should go in the mountain forum, but I think we've pretty much annexed this brewery and the mountain guys don't seem to give a shit about them (idiots).

    From the SR website:

"Selkirk Abbey will celebrate its first anniversary June 29 from noon to 7 p.m. with live music, sandwiches from Big Bear Deli and the debut of the big, rich St. Joseph imperial saison.

The brewery, which is doubling its capacity to a 15-barrel system, also will sell the first of its bottled beers at the bash. The 22-ounce bombers will begin rolling out to stores next month."

They've had the bottling line since before they opened but just couldn't brew enough beer to use it. They're on tap in Spokane so hopefully we see their bottles soon as well. I'd love to put some age on a few of their beers.

Keep an eye on these guys, folks. They're the real deal.

    Their website says that:

"Twin Falls, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and Mountain Home, as well as Spokane, Tri Cities, Yakima, Ellensburg, Walla Walla, Pullman and points between should be receiving our beer shortly.

Yeah I think they may be referring more to on tap with that. They've had their beer on tap at a couple places in Spokane for a few months now.

Yo, kinda ISO y'all. Just sayin'. I've had friends bring back growlers, and, so far, I'm a big fan.

This is super good news. We have been getting their beers down here in Boise and I have been consistently impressed.

When I was out there about a month ago, Jeff indicated this would be happening soon, but didn't quite have a date yet. I was planning to go to their anniversay shindig anyway, but now I'm certain to be there!

I wonder where on earth they'd be in the Tri-Cities?

Reviving this just to let you all know I stopped in today to grab a growler and asked about WA distribution. 30 cases each of St. Joseph (imperial saison) & 10 (the quad) should be hitting the usual suspects in Spokane next week.

I picked up a couple bottles of St. Joseph and tried some at the brewery. It's tasty. Some good dark fruit character to it and not too crazy with the spiciness. They also have a new "Summer IPA" called Afterlife that clocks in a little lower at 5.5%.

Curious to know if they have a bottling date?

Curious to know what really matters. When will they start distributing in Seattle?
I mean, you want me to drive to Ellensburg?

A couple friends of mine have made a couple trips over there this year. According to them, he's worried about the response his beers will over here on the Wet Side. Given the one's I've had, he ain't got nothing to worry about. Let's start an online petition to the White House to make Obama force Selkirk Abbey to send some yummy to Bellingham!

I don't know that Obama's gonna give a rat's ass (lame duck), but I'm starting to see commercials for the Seattle mayoral race. So I see an angle there. Not sure when Kelli Linville's term is up...

Not soon enough. It sucks having a mayor who, after getting a DUI, became solidly anti-alcohol. I've seen her at a few parties (this is Bellingham, yes the mayor goes to mutual friends parties. And a couple of city councilmen are regulars at music venues, enjoying craft beer), and it seems to bother her that we're enjoying lovely beverages, and she's not.

    Soo....

There were plans to have SA in the Seattle market back in March (based on the brewery's comments on Facebook), but I'm guessing that fell through. Anyone know if bottles are available in Yakima? Might drive over and get some if they are.

Don't know why more Eastern WA breweries (Bale Breaker, I'm looking at you especially) don't use Central and Eastern Oregon as a warm up/"farm league" before hitting the bigger markets in Western WA and OR. I realize Selkirk is in Idaho, but I'm going with leedorham's annexation proposal. Those mountains are wicked tall, just come south a bit...

Damn, I assumed they were available in Seattle at this point. Can't help you re: Yakima. I'm assuming they are available in the Tri-Cities at this point (which, in practice, probably means they are available in Yakima), but I won't be able to find out for certain until the 20th, when I pass thru on my way to go camping. Personally, if I lived on the west side, I'd be more excited to get ahold of Selkirk beers over Bale Breaker, since there's lots of regional brewers making hoppy beers. Breweries that specialize in Saisons (especially ones that do it well) are a lot thinner on the ground.

This is weird; I have bottles of Deacon and Infidel at home right now. Do they not actually exist? ;-)

A friend bought them back from Boise so apparently they're already available.
